While barking his head off, Jared happened to glance up and saw the window to his former room.
To his surprise, he saw himself staring through the window and looking down at him.
"Shaggy!" Jared barked. "Come back down! We need to..."
The curtains closed over the window, cutting him off mid-bark.
Even if he had known that his dad had ordered "Shaggy" to his room to study, it wouldn't have made the confused and frustrated former teenager, now sheepdog, feel any better about the situation.
He wondered if Shaggy had tricked him. Did the treacherous dog have any intention of helping them get back into their right bodies?
Jared stared at the yellow glow that illuminated the red curtains. He kept staring up at the obscured window, wishing he could see inside his old room, until without warning the light in the room went off.
Shaggy had gone to bed, leaving him in the backyard, chained, and helpless to do anything to change his fate. As Jared settled down for the night, making three circles in front of his doghouse before feeling ready to seek sleep, he held onto the thought that Shaggy couldn't stay in his room forever, an impostor having infiltrated family and home.
