June put the five in the tin and waved a pleasant-enough goodbye to the amazon, her smile lasting as long as possible.
"All sales are final," she growled between clenched teeth.
She tossed a quick glance to the upstairs bedroom window. The curtain that had been slightly parted moved, returning back to a closed position.
More of the kitsch cleared out for a net gain of a few hundred bucks, but if anything June was just relieved that the weird bagpipe-looking oddity had been exchanged. A little past noon when the purchasers had become onlookers, she called it a day and groaned her way out of the lawn chair, its frame lifting temporarily with her own.
The neighbourhood was trustworthy, if not a little barren, and she felt no need to hover like a hawk on the remaining trinkets. She left out a jar with a slot in top, heading inside to alleviate herself.
"It's done, Cal." She belted her voice loud enough that the mice in the attic could hear her, and made sure the doors and windows were covered before undoing her top.
From the mauve sundress to the expanded yoga pants, June shed down fully before her fattened fingers managed to uncover the hidden zipper that ran the full length of the body suit. She found the clasp beneath her right ear, pulling it down past her waist and to her ankle where it parted ways. Steam billowed out naturally.
"I'll bring in the rest of the stuff later. I just had to get this off."
Her half-svelte figure discarded the fake flesh unceremoniously onto the matted beige carpet before she made her way to the sitting room. Taking care to separate the weight mask from her face, June unglued it and set it onto the foam mount beside the mirror. With a quick makeup wipe and unbunning of her auburn hair, she felt like herself once again.
Her ear perked.
"Next time," she said in retaliation, "you handle them."
The slightest chitter of a small animal.
"Yeah, it did. You saw it. That tall gal, for five bucks. I almost laughed."
She held out her hand where Cal hopped onto it, nestling her tiny body into the ridges in June's lifeline.
"C'mon. I'll fix us something to eat before the big show."
Cal's face lit up, and she grabbed June's thumb for support as the rush of wind from room to room whipped through her short chestnut locks. June held her hand out from her own body while pressed to the prominent bust she displayed, a soft cushion for Cal to fall back on as per usual.
Lunch was a bowl of potato soup, a tuna and mayonnaise sandwich on ciabatta bun, and a chunk of mozzarella cheese. Lunch was also a thimble of potato soup, a tuna and mayonnaise sandwich on ciabatta crumb, and a chunk of mozzarella cheese. The roommates happily indulged themselves, sharing light banter while the radio played in the background.
June brought Cal to the remote before cleaning up.
It was chrome. Long and cylindrical. Cal remembered in days long gone when she was a different woman, a larger woman, and the hard rod played a different role than the one she looked at now. With an almost inaudible sigh unregisterable by a normal human hearing range, she brushed the large bread flecks that remained on her green fairy clothes, smoothing out the rough felt surface before walking the few steps to the technology.
The remote pulsed, its simplistic design screaming to be used.
If the user held the remote -- well, provided the user was over two feet tall and had the wherewithall to manage such a task -- they would be provided four directional arrows of rubber protruding from the metal and placed under the thumb. A fifth button, shining red and bulbous at the top of the device, was the activation switch. And alongside the length of the shaft were a dozen or so unlit LEDs with interesting acronyms which meant nothing to anyone outside of the internet.
At the moment, Cal saw the only lit selection as set to "Inactive".
"Hey, princess. Oh, here, let me help you up." June effortlessly lifted Cal with the intention of setting her on the buttons, choosing instead to steal a giantess kiss on the woman before returning her to the point of origin. "Not yet, huh?"
Cal smiled and shook her head.
"Well, I'm going to head back out and pack all that up."
A look of shock and sadness raced over Cal's face, and she began to shout loudly to her companion. June heard the squeaks and remembered.
"I'm sorry! Totally forgot." The larger woman leaned down, her ample bust spreading onto the surface so much that Cal almost moved for fear of being smothered. June's fingers blindly reached around, swiping a few times, finally touching upon the secondary object she'd neglected to pair.
"Here you are." A secondary vac, three quarters of the size of the one that had just left the yard. One light was lit atop its dome, a static green. Ready.
Cal thanked June, and both their eyes strayed to the remote where its menu light shifted from "Inactive" to "Active".
"Oh, looks like there's going to be some fun now. Here, let me put the hose next to you."
With a tinge of remorse that she'd committed to finishing up the yard work and wouldn't be around to see what the first command Cal entered into the remote was, June returned to the other room and began to suit up.
Cal looked down at the four rubber buttons by her feet. She was hungry with anticipation.
That purchaser from earlier, the tall one. She paid for the vac, but forgot her change.
And Cal was more than happy pay it back, with interest.
A shiver resonated through her diminutive body as she pushed down on the buttons and
