Author's Note: I'm moving Sauriel's chapter here, so we can have options where Amy is hypnotized, but not Ally.
While Kyle was daydreaming about what he could do with the coin, he didn't hear the door open and close. His single mom, Amy, walked in. Kyle blinked almost letting out a small yelp of surprise. She wasn't supposed to be home yet.
Amy was a single mother, struggling to make ends meet. Their father had left them a long time ago. The coin momentarily forgotten, Kyle looked at his mom with a worried expression. "What's wrong?"
"Oh what isn't wrong?" Their mom sighed as she plopped the car keys down. "I can't do this. I can't keep going like this. The bills...." She flung them down. "I can't provide for you two like I should. Why does life have to be so complicated?"
Kyle was jolted back to his magical coin. Why did it need to be complicated indeed? He looked at his sister who was frowning and shaking her head sympathetically with mom. His sister may be a bitch to him, but they both liked their mom. Maybe....He took the coin out.
He looked over at Ally. She had already headed back to her room, and she had shut the door behind her. It was just Kyle and his mom.
"You're right mom. You deserve a vacation." He whipped out the hypnosis coin. "Just relax. Okay?"
"What is..." Amy trailed off, enthralled by the spiral. In just seconds, Amy had been hypnotized.
