Now what? Your entire shirt has been ripped apart and you have a pair of blue, falcon wings hanging off your back! As if things could get any worse!
Not that you really want to find out if things can get worse.
All of a sudden, the door begins to creek open...
You run for a nearby stall, and lock yourself in. Your new wings slam against the toilet causing you to yelp.
“Is someone in here?” A voice says from somewhere outside.
You freeze.
Would they take ‘no’ for an answer?
“Yes” you say back, trying to sound as if nothing wrong is happening, “Something you need?”
“No, just wondering,” the voice states, sounding anbearest.
‘Good,’ you think, turning back around and taking deep, silent breaths.
Slowly you spread your new wings, ever so slightly. It feel as though you are moving your arms, thankfully, not to foren. Perhaps you can get used to them... if you can make it out of the carnival.
That will certainly be the hardest part. Or so you think.
Maybe going to the carnival, wasn’t such a bright idea. Actually, looking back, you really haven’t even had that much fun!
You sigh.
Unknowingly, your hand reaches down to your pant pocket and takes out the salt shaker. You put some on your hand, and pop it into your mouth.
Sucking on the salt makes you feel a little bit better, but your fears are still the same. Will you ever escape?
How would you be able to drive with these humongous wings if you did?
Sitting down, you don’t realize that your wings are suddenly... changing... more like shrinking.
It becomes easier and easier to once more sit against the wall.
Without you knowing it, your wings slowly disappear back into your back.
About a second later, your senses snap back to attendtion, and you realize for the first time that your wings are completely gone!
Frantically feeling your shoulders, you still find no sign of them. Not that you really want wings right now, but they were kind of cool...
Maybe it was just a temporary thing.
For what seems to be the fifth time in a row, you sigh deeply and stare back down at your hands.
Wait a minute.
Suddenly something ucures to you.
The wings vanished right about the time you tasted the salt.
Could both incidents be related?
No, surely not. But what else could be the reason?
Deciding to do a small test, you taste the salt again.
The same old tingling from the moment you won the toy blue wings, starts back up again. This time though, you expect it.
The transformation takes only seconds to finish and the same blue wings are once again stuck to you.
Now this is interesting, isn’t it?
Whenever you taste the salt, your wings form, but taste the salt again, and your wings recede.
Smiling for the first time since you got here, you continue to think about what to do next. This time around, you have more options...
