Naomi looked around the forest trail that was standing in with her father. With Yukiko sitting on her left shoulder. “Dad you said that I am going to learn some… hunter…. Skills?” She repeated.
Her father nodded, “Yes, I am going to be teaching you how to use a bow, katana, sword and a gun.” He listed off. This grabbed his child’s eyes. “However, I will be just trying to see which of the four that you take best to.”
Naomi nods, “I see.” She looked over to her side and blinked.
“Something the matter?”
“I thought I saw something.” Naomi said but then turned to her father. “I must have imagined it.” She spoke.
“Alright.” Her father nodded. “We’ll worry about it later.” He said. “But now I need to tell you about what I will be teaching you.” He said. “I’ll be showing you three different weapons and we can go from there. A bow, sword and a katana.”
Naomi turned and nodded. “I see.” She paused. “Well I guess I should get started then.”
“that’s my girl.” Her father hugged her. “Now here we are.” He said after he walked her to a small clearing that had a target a little ways, away.
Yukiko flew up to a branch and started to watch her master’s father teach her master. As time passed, Naomi was being taught how to use a bow, and the two other swords.
Once the lessons were finished, the three was walking back to the house. Yukiko sat on Naomi’s left shoulder. Along the way, Naomi’s father started to talk with Yukiko and Naomi. “You seem to be adjusting well, fairy.” He directed at Yukiko.
“Her name is Yukiko, dad.” Naomi sighed.
He just shrugged. “Ah sorry.”
“I’m fine I just miss my friends.” Yukiko look away sad.
“I would love to help but….” Naomi look at her dad who gave her a look.
“Now compared to your mother. I don’t hate Fairies as much. But I still don’t like them.”
Yukiko gripped Naomi’s Shoulder tighter. ‘Oh great.’ She thought worried.
“Naomi,” Her father spoke to her. “While I’ll be teaching you how to be a hunter. Your mother will be teaching you how to hunt and behave as a drider since you’re a hybrid.” The words almost stung her, but she waited. “But I don’t care, my child.” She smiled at his words.
“Thanks dad.”
He nodded with a smile. “Now about Yukiko here.” He said making the fairy turn to look at him. “There might be ways to solve her issue. One is sending her back to her realm.”
Naomi flinched. ‘I can’t do that… she mine…’ She mentally paused. ‘Wait where did that come from?’
“But that kind of spell you used to link her to you will make you possessive of her.”
“Wait you mean like she’ll treat me as a toy?!” Yukiko went worried.
“No, it’s not like that….” Naomi spoke up before her father could reply. “I think I feel it right now…. Your mine… like a friend that I cannot let go of.”
Right then they stepped back into their back yard. Her father spoke, “It’s just like I thought.” He paused. “Naomi. There is another thing you can do.” He stopped walking and talking to let Naomi walk past him before she turned and looked at him.
“And a few other things.” He continued as the two stared at him. “One is once your mother and I teach you our races hunting skills. You can go and hunt for other fairies.” That made Yukiko jump. “Or you can try to find that other fairy that we released.” Yukiko gulped while Naomi was being surprisingly calm. “Yukiko should be able to help you find her. However that does not mean you can go into their realm.” He sternly told them with ice in the world realm.
“I see…” Naomi nodded.
“Good.” He stepped over and rubbed her head. “Come on in. Let’s eat. Your mother has dinner ready for us.”
