John entered the tent and began searching the costumes. "There aren't as many costumes as I expected but here is one that would be perfect for you. We are limited financially and can't afford horses so we have people play the roles of the horses."
Jack asked, "You want me to be a horse?"
John said, "Yea, you'll get to participate in the jousting tournament and you don't have to know how to joust. You just follow your rider's directions. You also won't have to speak. Just wear this special saddle."
It was obvious that the saddle was one designed so a person could ride on another person's shoulders as if getting a piggyback ride. "Well alright, I guess it wouldn't be too bad to give piggyback rides but I was hoping to listen to the bards."
John said, "I'm sure you'll get to listen to bards." John raised a handful of powder and blew it in Jack's face. Jack choked but then felt blissful.
John said, "Let's get you into costume. Strip."
Jack stripped and John dressed Jack in the costume. The costume was not a horse costume. It was a saddle, bridle, and other things a medieval horse used to wear. There were plenty of colorful straps and strips of cloth.
After Jack had the bit in his mouth, he looked at himself in the mirror. The costume partially covered his naked body but offered glimpses of certain parts. In a blissful state, Jack tried to say, "Wow, I look great as a horse." but the bit in his mouth made it hard to speak.
John grabbed the reigns and led Jack outside. Jack protested, "Wait, I'm naked."
John said, "Of course, you're a horse."
Jack said, "Oh, that's right." and followed John outside. The magic powder caused everyone to think of Jack as a horse even though they could clearly see that he was human.
John called, "Hey Brian, I found a horse for your jousting tournament."
Brian came up and began looking his mount over. "What's your name boy."
Jack said, "Jack."
Brian held an apple up and Jack began eating it from Brian's hand. Jack said, "Thank you."
Brian said, "Just keeping your strength up."
