Alex finished things downstairs and went back to his bedroom with his 40lb backpack. He knew he should start his homework, but the intoxicating pull of magic was too much to resist.
He dropped his bag down and grabbed the lamp from where he hid it.
"What Happened to Mr.Morgan, I'd like to know.
A movie trailer summary, I wish you to show."
A young man in his mid twenties or early thirties was walking around a lavish house picking things up, apparently preparing for guests. Alex saw the lamp was one of the items he held, which was touching his arm. As he was adding more things into his arms he absentmindedly stated, "I wish I would always speak in rhyme while making a wish. Then I wouldn't have to worry about it or try so hard."
The young man took three more steps before a strange look crossed his face. He set everything down and the horror he exuded was palpable. The movie trailer made a time lapse of the man struggling to rhyme "I'm a handsome fellow, this banana is burgundy." and other oddities such as, "Twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder what you eat". The trailer even had movie voice guy narrate, "Unable to rhyme...and unable to have negative feelings while holding the lamp, Jason is left in a precarious position."
The young man looked exhausted and disheveled, and despite having been crying, he immediately looked at ease when he held the lamp... As though the solution was obvious, he said, "I wish to go back, undo my last wish."
As he said the words they appeared "on screen" in movie trailer fashion, apparently how the lamp interpreted it. "I wish to go forward, to my last wish."
The young man rapidly aged into his 80's and space shrunk to a narrow pathway as the spacious interior became a mess of antique junk. Scrawled notes, maps, and printed pictures littered everything. The narrator came back saying, "though only an hour has passed, the world remembers 50 years of him fruitlessly searching for another magical item to fix his predicament, the only peace he can find is in holding the lamp."
The now elderly, Jason Morgan, blissfully looked around and became distracted by something of interest. Setting the lamp down, he freaked out and caused quite the commotion. "Oh my God, I'm elderly!" having a stroke, he collapsed and the lamp fell on top of him. As he held it he made a final wish which was unintelligible due to loss of motor function in half his body, then he expired.
Alex was horrified! He thought for a moment, "I wish for any wish I make, a rhyme, its form to always take!"
He intended for it to be, any wish while touching the lamp and because he did rhyme, the true intent of the wish was fulfilled.
Testing it, he held the lamp and started a wish without a clear conclusion. "My homework will take more time than I want, ..."
an impulse took him over, " so I wish it typed up in 12 point font." he finished. Looking in his books, his notes were taken and legible for the first time in years.
