At first you hesitate, since you didn't notice any buildings earlier. However, looking around you at the deepening dark of the wooded cemetery, you figure that any shelter is better than sitting out in the open all night. Stumbling forward, you make your way towards the shadow.
To your disappointment, what you hoped would be an office or a maintenance shed is actually a dilapidated stone ruin with ivy growing all over. All over, that is, except for one spot: a dark gaping entryway that had stairs which seemed to go down. As bad as it is being in a cemetery, you have even less desire to be underground in a cemetery, especially in the dark. Who knows what was buried down there.
Just as you are about to turn away, figuring you would have to hole up under a tree for the night, you see a slight dim flicker of light coming from the underground entryway. It is so faint, you wonder if your eyes are playing tricks on you. But no, as you stare, you become convinced that somewhere deep underground is a dull glow, making it slightly lighter than the inky blackness at the top of the stairs. You don't want to go down there, but if there is a chance there is a person who can lead you out of this creepy place, you really should go find them. After all, who else would be down there except a groundskeeper?
Slowly and carefully, keeping your hands against the stone wall and feeling your way down the steps with your feet, you head towards the faint glimmer. Finally you reach the bottom of the steps and keep feeling your way forward. While the floor is now relatively flat, it does appear to tilt downwards somewhat. As you move deeper, you go so far that you cannot even see the place you entered anymore when you look back, it is so dark. However, the flickery light seems to get stronger, giving you some confidence.
Finally, you come around a corner and blink a few times. Before you is a wide-open stone room, and in the center is a fire, as well as a figure.
"Hello! I'm a bit lost, can you help...me....?" You trail off as your eyes begin to focus on the figure.
