There was no better option. Michelle didn't trust Shelby, but she didn't want to stay behind and get shot to death either. Even if Mike and Tom were beasts they didn't deserve to die for that. At least Michelle didn't think so. She ran. doing her best to keep up with Shelby who was almost inhumanly fast.
"Where are we going?" Michelle shouted, barely able to see Shelby in the darkness of night. Shelby didn't seem to have any issue navigating the forest at night, which concerned Michelle on some level.
"Honestly, no where in particular just out of here. Hopefully Mike and Tom will find us. If they haven't been..." Shelby didn't bother to finish the thought. Michelle felt a wave of dread come over her. But she didn't have any time to mourn for the possible loss of her friends. Shelby ran to the edge of the forest, into a clearing that lead to the highway.
"Alright, I think we'll be safe here. They won't want to cause a scene so close to a public road." Shelby gasped for breath, though not as badly as Michelle whose lungs felt like they were on fire.
"What. The. Fuck. Is. Going. On???" Michelle demanded once she was able to catch her breath.
"It's a long story."
"Start fucking talking." Michelle almost growled. Shelby noticed this, as well as Michelle's slightly longer canine teeth and the pointed tips of her ears poking through her hair.
"Ok. Just relax I'll tell you everything." Shelby said. The last thing she wanted was for Michelle to transform in full view of anyone on the highway. The heat had been boiling inside Michelle for almost an hour. Shelby could smell Michelle's heat building. Michelle herself was oblivious at the moment, her panic and adrenaline blocking out all other feelings. It wouldn't be much longer now until she changed. And what's worse, those government goons were still on their trail. Even if they were probably either dead or wolves themselves now, there was still a chance they'd want the two girls dead.
