It was a good thing that Acclimation classes had been put in place with Animalia's "inception". It was even better that they were updated when Dinotopia was born by accident. Sophie and Roland were glad that Norrie were heading their classes, because flying as pterosaurs was as different as flying as birds as possible. But there were other things to learn as well.

Sophie was retching over a nearby garbage can at Claw Coliseum after her latest dietary 'oopsie'.
"That's actually quite common, especially among converted." Norrie reassured Roland. "Think of it like experiencing a hangover after heavy drinking."
"That's not really reassuring." said Roland, having never been drinking due to not being 21.

One important lesson was learning how to deal with new parts, such as wings and/or tail. This was deemed mandatory because converted Animalians never had to deal with new body parts before they were converted. Fortunately the lessons were easy to deal with, mainly on keeping their "flying muscles" relaxed in places like a supermarket, a crowded sidewalk, etc.

Before too long, it was time for flying lessons. Although initially puzzled by the padding at the base of the "flight tower", they were glad it was there when they saw the clips of mess-ups, mainly about the "crash course". There were other amusing clips of other kinds of mess-ups, mainly about crashing into trees. While none of them were 'Wile E. Coyote-style' crashes, they were still amusing.

The most surprising thing for both Sophie and Roland about their new forms were their adolescent libido spikes. They both were aware of Jessica's own, but theirs were still surprising. They weren't as bad as Jessica's own, but they were still surprising.
What they really liked was the way that their wings were warmed by the sun. They were looking forward to the African and Egyptian sun, but it also had a sobering reality about the fall and winter months. Fortunately, there were lessons that were part of their Acclimation classes about what to do in cooler weather.
