Deanna gazed down at the sullen looking girl. Wilma had been poking at the food she had given her for the last 10 minutes not saying a word or making eye contact. "Is the food okay," she asked.
Wilma sighed as she looked up at the elderly woman. "Everything is fine," she mumbled. "I...I just have alot on my mind."
Deanna nodded as she now cleared her own plate. "I suppose thats understandable," she mused. "I mean you must of had an awful fright." Wilma could only nod sullenly, once again stabbing at the food on her plate.
"You know Ive never understood why children always play witb their food," Deanna smirked, hoping to lighten the mood. Wilma frowned glowering up at Deanna with all the fierceness her 11 year old features could muster.
"Im not a child," she grumbled. Deanna now stared down at the girl, a stern motherly look on her face. "Hmm could of fooled me," she snorted. "My son used to do the samething when he was a child. Thank goodness my granddaughter had a much sunnier disposition."
Wilma watched as Deanna sighed sadly, wiping a tear from her eyes. "Is everything okay," she asked nervously. Deanna sighed looking at the young girl. "Sorry," she whispered. "It's just....i haven't talked about our granddaughter since..." Deanna trailed off, wiping her eyes once more.
Wilma fidgeted slightly in her chair understanding that the woman had lost a grandchild. "Sorry," she said quietly. "Its okay really," Deanna smiled. "Not your fault. Honestly you look a little like her, well...maybe an older version of her."
"How old was she?""
"Seven," Deanna grinned. "Prettiest little thing and an angel to boot, I always loved having her over." Wilma and Deanna now smiled awkwardly at eachother, unsure of what to say next.
"Well I fixed it," Marvin announced. Deanna and Wilma turned quickly to see him enter the kitchen. "Turns out it was just a loose wire. Guessing it must of been dropped."
Wilma thanked Marvin as she now looked over the chronovac. Before she could activate it and fix her mistake she felt an odd tingle envelope her body once more. "Nooo," she screamed. "Its...its happening again."
Deanna watched horror struck as her fingers slowly slid inside her blouse. As she looked up she could see tge looks of shock cross Deanna and Marvins face as she grew younger.
Wilma watched as the chronovac began to count down. 10....9, Wilma could feel hee feet begin to lift off the floor. 8, only Wilmas toes now brushed the floor as her shoulder began to peak out the collar of her shirt. 7, Wilma's tiny feet now dangled above the floor in the chair she sat. The tiny girl could see the chronovac in her hands, a message emblazoned on the display.
Subjects age stabilized.
Wilmas bottom lip began to trwmble as she realized what occured. The chronovac had reduced her to a seven year old child. While she no longer needed to fear becoming younger the fact she was now just a child made the girl burst into tears. Hopping of her chair the riny girl sprinted to Deanna throwing herself into thw woman as she cried like a frightened child.
Deanna now tried her best to soothe the young girl. "Its over now your safe," ahe whispered. "I wont let anyone hurt you."
Wilma felt so childish for letting herself be treated like this, something about it though madw her feel safe. With her regression halted she now needed to decide what to do. Return to adulthood or try to hide with Deanna and Marvin.
