Right in the centre point of her view stood a doctor, with the biggest grin that she had ever seen. She didn't know if the smile was acceptable or creepy. "Hello! I believe you're here because of the ad. I'm James, by the way" James said, outreaching his hand towards Jess. Jess slowly walked into the office and shook James' hand, with the door slowly closing behind her. "Hi...um...I'm Je-" "Jess! Yes, we've heard all about you" James said, cutting off Jess' greeting "Come, I'll show you where the procedure will be". "This is weird" Jess thought as she followed James through several corridors to a room with a blue tiled floor, a white examination bed in the centre, and surrounded in one way mirrors. The room made Jess feel uneasy, like something out of a dentist's nightmare. "Okay, I want you to lie on there and we'll get started!" James instructed. Jess questioned the word "we'll" as she hasn't seen another person around the whole building at all, but she followed what the doctor said and lifted herself onto the bed. After a short while, the doctor returned, wearing a medical face mask, and holding a medium sized syringe. Jess turned to see the syringe and almost fell off the table in shock. "Don't worry, you won't feel a thing" James said, lying through his teeth. Jess seized up but stayed on the table, as James rubbed some rubbing alcohol on her right arm, and safely plunged the needle into her arm, letting the liquid enter her bloodstream.
Jess almost fainted as she felt the liquid enter through her arm and the needle leaving her body. "Alright, you can sit up now" James said. Jess sat up, confused. She reached for her arm where the needle was injected, to try and put pressure on the area, so she wouldn't bleed until the band-aid was put on. She felt the area. No pain. No bruising. Nothing. No hints of blood, either. In fact, there was no mark on her skin where the needle pushed through, the skin looked as normal as it did when she entered the building. Jess became even more confused, nervous and scared than before. "What's going on?!" Jess asked worryingly. "Calm down, it's okay" James replied, as he was holding a small mechanical box with a small microphone attached. "DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN, WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?!?" yelled Jess. James explained. "We've injected you with a stream of nanobots to test how they can change and operate a human body. Right now, they should be all around the whole body connecting themselves to the nervous system and brain cells". Jess couldn't believe what she was hearing. "What?" said Jess, shocked beyond belief. "Just watch" James said as he moved the box's microphone towards his mouth "Move right arm". Jess' right arm slowly lifted, connecting to her eye-line. "How i- Wh- STOP IT! STOP IT NOW!" yelled Jess. Jess' arm moved back to position. "No, no, no, I'm afraid I can't do that" responded James. Jess was fuming by this point, but she couldn't say a word. "You agreed to do this. You wanted to do something worthwhile, and that's why you're here. Now this is why we need you. We've injected you with nanobots, yet the nanobots are set to handle animal life, not humans. We want to see how the nanobots respond with the human body, whether or not the bots stop what they're doing or, the better option, change the body into the animal that follows our instructions...". Jess eyes widened with fear, mouthing the words "No" over and over. "Now, if you please Jess, ..."
