Edwin had liked superhero movies, and had planned to see this one. Ebony liked the movie, but seeing it as Ebony, as a person who openly acknowledged her attraction to the male body, was a very different experience than seeing it as Edwin, who denied and struggled against his. Not that Ebony wasn't attracted to women as well. The richness of the experience was enhanced by fantasies of being ravished by Black Panther or going on a date with Black Widow--or even spending an afternoon in bed with both together. (She did draw the line at Thanos, though.)
Despite the film's downer ending, Ebony felt energized and turned on as the credits rolled. She also felt more at home in her female body. She didn't want the evening to end. Ebony turned to Dawn and said "Wanna go out dancing?" She shimmied a little in her seat.
I've created a monster, Dawn thought.
"C'mon, white girl, don't be a stick in the mud."
