Nate made his way through the zebra herd, dodging the flying hooves and sprinting towards the middle where the man-turned-into-a-zebra now ran. Catching up, but still not there, Nate wondered why in the world he wanted to catch this particular equine. Perhaps because he had wanted to see Nate lose his live? Or maybe his lion side was just chasing the first zebra it had seen.
Never the less, he was almost on top of his prey, and was preparing to pounce...
"NAAAAAAAGH!"
Suddenly a zebra out of no where surprised Nate, and threw him off course!
Banging into the zebra proved to be quite a problem for him, as the animal kicked him hard in the chest and bolted away.
Nate began to run slower and slower, losing distance to the zebras and finally collapsing in a mix of confution and pain. The lionesses, his lionesses, stopped short as well.
"Well THAT was a stupid move!" one of them jeered, flicking his unmoving tail with her paw, "Next time, Try to get hurt!"
The other lionesses roared with laughter, scratching him one by one before running off after the herd of zebras.
Nate decided to just stay there for the night, as he didn't think he could move, even if he really wanted to.
Nate was broken in several places, not just his bones.
As twilight dawned, he fell into an uncomfortable half sleep, dreaming about the mean lionesses and the zebras kicks...

The stars of night started to disappear, as dawn drew nearer...
Creatures of the night began to move back to their nests, in hopes of having a good day's sleep... and the sun was now showing its brilliant display of morning over the horizon.
Nate awoke to the sounds of African birds chirping, in their song to welcome the new day, that is.
He found himself lying next to the same tree he had fallen beside the night before, only this time, he had a better look of it. Quickly he rose, then imedeently fell back down, as his bones creeked and groaned for the dusk before.
After a few minutes, he decided to try again, and this time braced himself for the pain to come...
Walking around proved to be much more difficult with his aching chest and paws. Perhaps he should he should find a watering hole, he figured to himself.
Quite coicidently, there just happened to be one a few meters away from his resting place...
Quietly taking a nice, long drink from the semi-dirty water, he set off to find something to feed his starving stomach.
Zebras were no good he decided, recalling what happened yesterday, maybe a gazelle? Hmmmm, even gazelles seemed potentially dangeress... How about just eating some grass?
He sighed. No, what he really wanted was meat, but some grass could help. besides, he wasn't nearly fit enough to even be trying to catch anything thing!
Oh if those lionesses were still there... and if only they cared, he might be able to heal...
But no. This was something he had to do all by himself.
Nate shuddered at the thought of actually surviving in this strange, yet seemingly formalier land.
Could he even make it through his first day of being a lion?
Or would the vultures, or whatever called Africa its home, get him first? ...
