As the darkness weighs heavily on the air, it's the sudden appearance of two lights; one blue and another gold; that caught your eye. They weaved between branches and trees and even each other, acting with some obvious consciousness. With little else to latch onto in deep forest, you decide to follow the lights as they go along.
It is maybe a mile of trudging through thick undergrowth before you seem to catch up to what you've come to believe must be the world's biggest lightning bugs. Coming into a clearing that was covered in a canopy of entangled branches, vines, and leaves. Despite a near wall and ceiling of nature, their was an ambient light which allowed the space a haunting feel if anything. While you look around, you suddenly remember the lights and realize they've gone.
Turning and looking around, you stub your toe on the outcrop of what appears to be a sort of circle made of stone that's been overgrown with moss and time. Still, you had to be careful with your footing as you stepping into the center. You thought you saw one of the lights moving in the center but when you reach the shaft of light, you feel an abrupt halt to your momentum. Your legs are lifted and you're soon looking down at the ground you're now parallel to.
You're about to cry out when the gold light comes to your lips and, as you now see it's a tiny a glowing woman with wings rather than a bug which you had been following, shakes its head.
"Don't go chatting us up. You're ours now, precious," said the gold fairy in a squeaky and sugared voice.
"You'll be perfect!" declared the blue fairy, descending from the branches. As it neared, it moved its hands like a puppeteer's and your arms and legs were all stretched while your chin was raised you keep your vision forward.
The two then looked at you, one staring at either pupil, and seemed to be weighing their options.
"So what do we need? He's primed for anything," stoked the blue as gold assessed the desperate look in your eyes. This came from the seal that kept your lips together and unable to cry out for any sort of help. Not it would matter this deep in the woods.
At last, the gold one nodded and confided with the other, the most snickering together before spreading to either side of you.
"Okay, time to become more useful!" said the blue one, your arms and legs tingling already.
Gold smiled and touched the tip of your nose, leaving it to numb and twitch. "Oh yes. You'll make a wonderful..."
