Lisa wasn't quite sure to do with herself, literally in this case. Of all the weirdness that's come with having the Ring of Age around, having to deal with her younger self was probably the last thing she expected. Well, not quite like this. How were you supposed to deal with your teen self who's from an alternate timeline? This was really making her head spin.
So once Lisa and her teen self were in the kitchen, Lisa tried to think of some way to open discussions. Eventually, she decided to go with something basic. "So...do you like my house?" asked Lisa.
"It's nice," said Teen Lisa, "What do you do for a living?"
"Well, I've been a fitness model for quite a while," said Lisa.
"No way," said Teen Lisa, "Me? A model?"
"You'll get the body for it," said Lisa.
"Wow, when does my career begin?" asked Teen Lisa.
"Lisa, I'm not your future self," said Lisa, "This is a different timeline. You don't have to follow the same path as me. Besides, there are some differences between us."
"Like what?" asked Teen Lisa.
"Well, who are your sisters in your world?" asked Lisa.
"I only have one sister, Lisa," said Teen Lisa, "Katie's my twin sister."
Lisa blinked in surprise. That was definitely something she wasn't expecting. "So, do you have an Ann?" asked Lisa.
"Yeah, she's my aunt, though she's kinda my guardian now," said Lisa, "Considering we don't have any other family."
Lisa winced. Her Katie's mother must have met the same fate as the other Katie's mother. And their father was obviously nowhere to be seen. "Why don't you tell me more about your life?" asked Lisa.
Teen Lisa probably wouldn't be this open to a lot of people, but considering Lisa was technically herself, it all came out a lot easier. She talked about her mom's death in the car accident, how she wouldn't have been in it if it wasn't for Teen Lisa's dumb request. She talked about her friends, about how she stood up for Claudia when Mary Elise turned on her. Pretty much everything up to the other Kellie's appearance.
"So what's the other Kellie like?" asked Lisa.
"A bit of a know-it-all," said Teen Lisa, "I mean, I guess she's trying to do the right thing, but she thinks she knows what's best. She thinks...I've got a bit of a temper problem."
Lisa would say that would be putting it mildly. But it really wasn't surprising. She knew she was a hothead when she was younger and this other Lisa has had more reasons to lash out. Though anger can be really self-destructive if it wasn't in control. "So, I guess we are fiery redheads," said Lisa.
"You know, it's not really funny," said Teen Lisa.
"It is kinda true," said Lisa.
"Maybe, but I don't act out just because I've got red hair," said Teen Lisa.
"No, you act out because you feel hurt and you don't like your friends being hurt," said Lisa, "It's good to stick up for your friends, but just lashing out can cause more problems than it fixes."
"But you don't know how nasty Mary is," said Teen Lisa, "And Ann is just-"
"A total bore who's too uptight," said Lisa, "I know. My Ann is my sister and I grew up with her. But you need to realize that you didn't just lose your mother, Ann lost her sister. And she's been struggling to raise you and Katie on her own. I think you could cut her a little slack."
"I guess..." said Teen Lisa.
"And Mary...I'm not really sure what's going on with Mary, but things are never going to improve if you two keep being angry with each other. And don't say 'she started it'. Who's been keeping it going? Not just her, but you," said Lisa, "And I'm pretty sure neither of you are actually happy about it."
Teen Lisa sighed and said, "It's not easy keep yourself from being angry."
"I know," said Lisa, "Let me tell some things I'v learned about that.
