"Now we just have to brand you." Says the farmer in a serious tone.
You almost think you misheard him and ask "Is that really necessary?"
He thinks for a moment before saying "Well i don't think that its really something we have to do, but it would deter anyone from stealing you from us and would tell people where to bring you if you got lost."
You don't really like how he said 'steal' instead of 'kidnap' but he has a point.
A cow without some sort of permanent or at least semi-permanent identification is a good target for any would-be thief.
"It seems that we will have to do it in that case..." You say reluctantly.
He immediately turns around and says "Good i'll get the branding iron." and leaves.
You wait spend a fairly long time waiting and start to think about the fact that you are a cow waiting to get branded.
You swear to yourself that you will be more carefull when using magic in the future.
The farmer returns after a while holding the red hot branding iron, you can't quite make out the text but you feel even less excited about this, if that is at all possible.
He walks behind you and says "Now stay calm we'll be done in a second." Whilst patting your large behind.
You are about to say something before suddenly feeling a horrible stabbing pain and hearing a sizzeling noise.
The pain is less intense than you expected but you release some very cow-like noises nonetheless.
You quickly realize what you've done and immediatly burn in humiliation.
The farmer laughts and says "All done! See, that wasn't so bad right?" And gently strokes your head.
Looking down you see the branding iron and you can finally read what it says 'PROPERTY OF WESTWOOD FARMSTEAD'.
You aren't happy knowing that you've been branded as property but you'll have to bear with it for the moment.
The farmer continues to coddle you and asks if you are hungry to wich you somewhat distractedly reply to with yes.
He stops stroking you and takes a few steps outside the stall to grab a bucket.
He puts the bucket down in front of you and you see that its filled with a seemingly random assortment of cut up apples, carrots, potatoes and some grains.
The farmer starts to slowly and gently stroke your head again and says "I had my wife put the favorites of our previous cows together to make sure that you'd like it."
You don't really feel like you have the power left to argue after all that's happened and just lean down to eat the food in the bucket.
The farmer keeps slowly stroking you while you eat and takes the bucket away once you're done.
"Good girl. See? I'm sure you'll have lots of fun while you're here. I bet being queen is so stressful that spending some time as a heifer that spends her time being taken care of and groomed, without any dutys or appointments will be nice for a while."
You can't really argue, taking care of those 'heroes' and all of your day-to-day appointments is a pretty big hassle.
And you'll probably get way less of those guys now considering your 'selfless' transformation into a cow.
All of this may not be such a bad thing after all.
"I'll leave you now if you don't need anything else. Goodnight!" Says the farmer as he closes the gate. "Goodnight." You answer.
Now alone you look around the small pen, and decide to rearrange and transform some of the hay to make a proper sleeping place.
You look around and see the pile you want to transform...
