"...How about we go to the beach?" Damien suggested with a smile. "The beach? Well, I'm sure it'd be nice to get in the water after all this time traveling." Fang got up and washed his bowl, placing it in the sink. "What time do you want to go? I'm fine going soon if you want." "Well, at least in the morning the beach won't be crowded. Let's go soon." Fang nodded and went upstairs to his room. Damien went to his own and put on the swimtrunks provided to him, and went back downstairs to see Fang wearing a similar pair, including a hoodie. Fang looked over to Damien and stared him down. "You sure you're not going to wear a jacket or anything? It will be pretty cold." "I'm sure I'll be fine. I'm used to it." "Okay then. Don't come crying to me when your chest freezes over." Fang chuckled and led Damien outside to a rather clean and new SUV. They both took several things like beach balls, surfboards, and sunblock for if they stayed for the later hours of the day, and loaded it all in the back, then they got in themselves.
Fang started up the car and began to drive out into the street and through the town. As he drove he noticed Damien began to slightly shiver. "Cold?" "No. I'm fine." "That shivering you're doing tells a different story." Fang smirked. "Fine, fine...I'm really cold..." Fang sighed and pulled over to the side of the road. Damien looked over and asked, "What are you doing?" "Making you not cold," Fang responded with as he took off his hoodie and wrapped it around Damien. His shivering immediately stopped, and he took note of how warm it was. "Wow...thanks." Fang blushed a little and returned to driving. Soon, they reached the beach.
Indeed, there weren't very many there, as the water and air was pretty chilly in the morning. Fang and Damien got out of the car and began to unpack their belongings as several girls ran up to Fang and started cheering. Fang chuckled awkwardly as he posed in the selfies the girls took with him, and ran off. Damien laughed a little. "Wow, you're even more popular than I had realized." "Yeah. Sometimes it can get a little tedious to handle..." "I can see why." Damien chuckled again, and Fang joined in too, awkwardly chuckling. When they were done unpacking everything, they did beachy things that beachy people at the beach would do. Beachily. Damien swam around for quite some time, already having gotten used to the cold temperature. Fang on the other hand, was clearly afraid of the water. Damien took note of this and called out to him, "Hey? Aren't you going to come in?" Fang shivered. "I...Don't know. My scales are too sensitive to the cold water..." Damien tilted his head. Fang looked over back to him, and thought to himself, "...But...If I want to win his affection...I'm going to have to do it."
Fang walked back further away from the water, and began running wildly towards it. He suddenly tripped and crashed, rolling right into the crashing waves. Damien quickly swam over to see if he was okay. Almost immediately after, Fang's head splashed out of the water, gasping for air and slapping his paws against the water's surface as if he was going to drown. Right then though, he looked at the water, and he noticed he was still in the shallow area. An awkward silence filled the air for several moments before Damien let out a small giggle, and he began laughing. Fang's face burned red with embarrassment, but he soon joined in on the laughter.
"Today was a good day," he thought.
