Later that day, Damien and Fang mostly just hung around the mansion, until Fang finally decided to break the silence. ".........D...Do you wanna...maybe go.........get dinner...?" He twiddled Gus thumbs in anticipation, waiting for an answer. "Huh? Yeah, I'm alright with that." Damien felt something Between him and Fang form during their time together. As strange as it was, he knew he began to harbor feelings for the dragon. He wasn't sure if it was just because he found the dragon someone he cared for, or because of some weird force. Unbeknownst to him, Fang had feelings for him as well.
Fang smiled sheepishly, and got up off the couch he was sitting in. He left for his room and came back downstairs, wearing the same white tuxedo he wore at the party a day ago. Damien looked over in surprise. "Whoa, what's with the fancy outfit?" Fang blushed and stuttered, not sure what to use as an excuse. "W-Well, you see...I need to look spiffy when I go out...you know...? Paparazzi and all that...? Heh...?" It was all he had as an excuse for dressing up for what he considered a date between them. Damien smiled, getting up from his seat. "Then in that case, Ill get dressed up too so I don't ruin your style." Fang blushed even more. "W-Wait! You won't ruin my style or anything like that, I promise!" Damien laughed a little. "It's not just that. I want to." He soon did the same as Fang, walking back into the room wearing his fancy white tuxedo.
Fang looked at Damien with a burning desire. At first, he wasn't sure what to think of Damien when he first saw him, but now, he saw Damien as an important part of his life. Fang walked over to Damien and stood a little close as they left the mansion once again to go out to dinner. They took the same SUV from before, and this time, Damien drove. Fang waited with anticipation, sweat rolling down his face. "What if this date is a disaster?" he thought. "What if he thinks of me as a freak of nature?" He hated thinking this way, but he was delightfully greeted by the sign of a fancy restaurant as Damien drove into the parking lot. It was definitely a place only wealthy people would be able to afford eating at, as the front entrance was even guarded by an usher. The two got out of the car and walked to the front door, where the Usher stopped them. Damien apparently had appointed them a table, though the usher didn't really care about it when he saw Fang, whom he immediately just let pass along with Damien. But this had Fang thinking. "Damien already appointed us a table? Why? M...Maybe he.....no...he can't like someone...something...like me..."
They were soon guided to a table, and given menus to order from. Obviously, Fang chose the pancakes, being the childish dragon he was. Damien smiled and ordered pancakes as well, hoping to understand Fang's massive love for pancakes. Fang stared off into space as they waited for their food. Damien spoke to grab Fang's attention, "...Why is it that you love pancakes so much?" Fang was so lost in thought it took him a moment to even realize Damien spoke to him. "......Oh? Yeah, I love pancakes...probably because...well, I'm not sure myself." Damien got a chuckle out of this. "That sounds like you alright." Fang's face flushed red and he glared. "Hey!" "Heh, I jest, I jest."
They talked for several more minutes as their arrived. Fang immediately dug into his dinner, like...well, a dragon, and Damien watched, intrigued. It took Fang several moments to realize he was being watched. When he finally realized, he turned to face away, his face a deep red. "The way you eat those pancakes sure shows how much you love em." ".........Yeah..." "I can admire eating like that. It may be messy, sure, but you can still enjoy it pretty well." "R-Really?" "Of course." Fang smiled. Perhaps Damien really did have feelings back.
They chatted plenty more, and they soon left to get home. Fang was noticeably a lot more nervous and flustered than before after their dinner, just as Damien was closer to him than before. When they finally arrived home, Fang sighed and sat down on a comfy chair. "Hey, Fang? I want to ask you something." Gang leaned his head over. "What is it?" "Do you believe in soulmates?" "W-Well...no....." "Hmm...that's..........a shame. But, I have one last thing to tell you." Fang nervously twisted his body around in the chair to face Damien. "I love you." Fang's jaw fell agape, as his eyes went wide. "...Fang?" Fang was completely silent. "Fang? Please, say something..." Suddenly, Fang leaped over and bear-hugged Damien. "Whoa!"
"I love you too!!" Fang smiled as tears of joy ran down his face. Damien raised Fang's chin for them to face eye-to-eye, and went in for a kiss. Fang's eyes went wide and he quickly pulled away. "W-Wait!" "Huh? Fang?" "I...We can't kiss..." "...Why not?" "You...You may not believe me when I say this...but if any human were to kiss me.....they'd turn into a dragon like me..." "......I...Believe you." Everything went silent for a few moments. "That's why we can't get...'that' close..."
Damien rubbed his chin in thought, then spoke, "Well, what if I...?"
