It had been a few days since the lab accident and the virus had made its way to a lake, completely infecting the water. Interestingly enough, the local wildlife in and around the lake had been infected, but exhibited no changes. If anything, it would appear that the virus could have gone unnoticed as long as nobody went near the lake.
Unfortunately, that would not be the case, as those few days had lead into the summer, causing a large party of college students to come to the lake the following morning, ready to rock out in the water during the ill-timed sunny weather that made the area more than appealing. With college classes over, the barrage of young adults made their way to the waterfront, beach balls and beers in hand, all oblivious to the virus stewing in the lake. What was even worse was that the presence of alcohol had an unexpected side effect to the virus, now causing it to affect the mind just as well as the body.
The virus had also been distributed into the air surrounding the area due to the sun's heat evaporating the water with the virus. Only time would tell what would happen to these unsuspecting college students as they blissfully splashed around in the water, relaxed in the sun, or even just hanging out around the beach.
