A couple moments after the sergeant left the room you heard the faint sound of the door handle twisting. Something you'd never really noticed until now. It was still faint but you could tell that was exactly what it was. Your ears subconsciously twitched towards the direction, giving it away to Rudy that the sergeant had left the room.
"So... Connor, it's been a while, hasn't it? I haven't seen you since the academy," the uniformed office explained, looking down towards you as he did so. "Still got that love interest of yours? That blonde EMT gal that held your convulsing body up during taser training?"
You thought about reaching your hand out and shoving him lightly, the one thing you hadn't missed about him was his teasing. As soon as you tensed the muscles to do so a sharp pain shot through every single muscle and bone that you had tried to move. Something was seriously wrong from the way everything felt... it hurt so much. The pain worked its way through the rest of your body, working from your chest and moving further throughout.
Rudy seemed to notice you were in pain from the expression on your... face. If that's what you could still call it, not that you noticed quite yet. Your vision was warping a bit further, blurring and fading outward. It was extremely disorienting and somewhat nauseating. You could only assume this was a reaction to what had done this to you so far, the prick from the collar. The pain and horrid waving feelings were forcing your consciousness to take a back seat slowly. A silent whine escaped your elongated mouth; as if the officer needed another reason to know you were in pain.
Your eyes shifted wearily, fixing on Rudy - he seemed to be reaching into the box that you had received with everything in it. He pulled out the red cross adorned bag that you had assumed was medical supplies for caring for a canine. From within the bag he additionally extracted what seemed like a rather large syringe. He stuck the needle deep into a bottle that was too distant for you to read.
"It's alright Connor, just hang in there. I've got something for ya," Rudy spoke in a rather enlightened tone. He seemed a little too happy to be observing this process right now, to be honest. You wanted to object, to resist the needle in his hands but as you tried to move you were quickly reminded of the amount of pain that overcame you. When it settled you felt a slight prick in your arm, Rudy had actually stuck you with the needle! About a dozen milligrams of Midazolam worked its way through your veins, guiding you towards a fuzzy state of mind. It wasn't quite enough to knock you down all the way but it was more than enough to make things a good bit better.
Who knows how much time passed before it started to wear off? It felt like minutes ... maybe hours? Stuck in the twilight you really didn't bother too much with the aspects of what happened to you. Everything seemed to be simply a blur. Eventually, it eased you into a sense of natural sleep.
