Bob rolled an eight, and his token started to move toward Mary and Toby, but suddenly the piece stopped.
"What?" he said, to nobody in particular.
Dina pointed to the display. "You have been caught in a trap: a spring with radioactive water. You are now vulnerable to heat. You are not able to move your token. You will not be able to change back until a person rolls ten or higher, then two turns pass."
Bob grimaced. "So what happens to me?" he asked.
Mary shrugged. "Guess we're about to find out."
Suddenly, Bob felt a sudden surge of heat. He looked down and was surprised to see his legs were turning to ice. "Why do my legs feel hot?" he wondered.
Mary moved around to see. "Maybe it's because the room is hotter than them," she said, gingerly touching his leg and finding it ice cold, unsurprisingly.
Bob reached down and found that he could still feel in his feet. Even stranger, he could move them, despite their turning to ice. His legs were turning to ice with speed. Bob could feel the heat moving up through his body into his arms and head. His entire body was now ice-cold and hard, but at least he could still move and feel.
"That's not much of a trap, is it? If that's all it does... just makes me feel hot?"
"Bob, dear," said Dina playfully, "ice melts. You're hot because everything here is hotter than you, and - look! Your feet are dripping water!"
Scared, Bob looked down and realised she was right. "What do I do?"
"Well, you could start by taking off those clothes. They're probably making you even hotter." Toby offered. Bob decided that he'd rather look indecent that melt, so he complied.
"I really don't like the idea of being naked like this," Bob complained. Then, looking around and realising that Ryan, Mary, Lissi, and Dina weren't wearing anything, he decided that it couldn't hurt. "Oh, Toby, seeing that we're all clothesless, take off all yours too." Toby had no choice but to do that, although he didn't seem to mind that too much.
"Is there a fan or air conditioning in here? I'm still hot," said Bob, worried now.
"No, there isn't," said Mary. "We'd better just play quickly, and hope someone rolls over ten soon."
Dina was barely taller than her lifelike token. Toby was acting subservient against his will. Lissi was a large bird. Ryan was a talking head. Bob was slowly melting, and unable to help that. Mary was the only person in the room who was normal. She reached for the dice.
