It was then Pete suddenly discovered some huge human hands pick him up.
He looked, and saw the human hands led to a man with tan skin, and short curly black hair, wearing a cream wool sweater under a thick green coat, blue jeans, and Brown shoes.
"Well well well." The man spoke. Pete knew that voice; it was his good friend Thomas Fletcher, a forest animal protector, a part time vet, and also, a very funny jokester.
"This is a very strange new species of frog. It's got a human face, with hair, and everything!" He looked again at the frog. "I have a nagging feeling i've seen that face somewhere before."
Of course, he didn't know the frog was actually Pete.
"Of course!" He said. "I'll call it the 'Mimic Frog', a frog that can mimic the face shape of any human or animal!"
He stroked the frog with Pete's face. The slime on his fingers felt like jelly. He noticed he'd got some of it on his fingers. He tasted it. It tasted like apple jelly.
"I sure wish I could be a Mimic Frog like you." He said.
He carefully put the 'Mimic Frog' that resembled his friend Pete back into the river, and then, he hopped all the way back to his car. "Time to go home. Ribbit." He said as he started up his car and drove off.
"That was odd." Pete said to himself. "I didn't know that Thomas could hop that well."
