"Hey, look at that!" Sophie exclaimed.
It was a cave, a rather large cave at that. "Come on, let's have a look" Sophie said as she jogged towards the recently found cave. Dale sighed and rolled his eyes. They couldn't of just stayed at the hotel and had some time to themselves for a change? Dale slowly followed behind her, as both of them walk towards this newly found cave. Sophie was so intrigued, this was something that the town never mentioned. This should have been a tourist attraction, why wouldn't they talk about this. Dale finally catched up with Sophie. He was tired and aching all around. He was never the type of person who would go for a hike, but he wanted to see Sophie have some fun during this holiday of theirs, so he had to do whatever she wanted to do.
"Look at this, Dale. This cave is amazing! It's so huge, there could be an underground tunnel in there..."
"Uh huh *breathes in heavily* Could we see the waterfall now? I'm in quite a lot of pain" Dale exaggerated.
"Come on, we've got to have a look inside, right?"
"I don't know, honey. Maybe we should just get back and res-"
Sophie shushed him mid-sentence. She saw something come out of the cave. It was an animal of sorts. Or maybe something larger? She really couldn't tell until it was in the light. Out of the shadows and silhouettes of the cave, there it was. It was a small furry creature (in between the sizes of a rabbit and a monkey) that had a sort of human-like face. It was covered in brown fluffy fur and it had very large ears, almost as large as Sophie's hand. It did have a monkey like tail but it was definitely not part of the primate family. The creature just looked up at Sophie in confusion.
"Oh my god, look at this, Dale!"
She tried bending down to feed it some food, but the creature mimicked her movements. She stood back up and the creature did the same.
"Hey, Dale, he's mimicking my movements, isn't that cute?"
Dale did find the mimicking cute for a bit, but he was tired and just wanted to go back and sleep. "Okay, okay, you've had your fun, let's walk to the waterfall now".
Sophie just smiled as she continued to do poses for the creature to follow. This was so fun for her, she felt like she couldn't stop. She couldn't. Sophie couldn't stop. She was stuck doing movements. Sophie's first happy mood faded into concern. "I... I can't."
"What do you mean "you can't", it must be fun but surely you'll get ti-"
"No, I can't stop doing them".
"What?"
"I'm stuck doing this. Please help me, Dale, I can't stop".
The mimic smiled. It was his turn to have some fun.
