Memory Change

added by Bear 5 years ago A BM O Mental

The mimic immediately hunched down, making Sophie land on all fours. Her hands touched the cold stone of the cave floor, her fingers and toes extending to monkey length proportions. Her hands curled up into fists, making her look like a human sized monkey. Sophie felt like she was glued to place, Dale couldn't even lift her up, her eyes were still transfixed to the creature. Then, the creature moved. It moved and she didn't. She was still stuck, eyeing this creature, not blinking once. Dale stopped trying to move her as he was shocked that the creature stopped making her move. His eyes were now stuck at the creature, making him stay in place just like Sophie. Both were motionless, staring at this creature. The mimic walked up to them both and, as quick as a flash, launched his hands on their foreheads. Both of them didn't know what was happening, but the creature knew exactly what he was going to do. As their shocked expressions faded, their eyes were glazed over, like they were in some sort of trance. Sophie's mind was panicking but something about the creature clawing on her forehead was making her mind sooth. Her skin was becoming leather-like as her mind almost completely soothed away the panic. The mimic smiled, he was going to alter their thoughts and memories into whatever he wished it to be.

Sophie's mind was still uneasy, but the soothing stopped her from panicking. "No, I don't what to be a monkey! I am not a monkey! I just wanted to look around with my husband, I wanted to discover new things, I wanted to... to... to...". As she tried to mentally shout to the creature, the mimic started to alter her mind. "I... wanted to do new things... I wanted to swing through those Scotland trees... I wanted to eat their local food... Feeling the wind through my hair and f- fu- fur. Yes, the comfortable breeze on her lovely f- fu- fur. My brown fur... my fur... Swinging through the trees with my t- ta- tai- tail. My long, beautiful tail... Grabbing fruit with my tail... Flexing my fee- fe- f- h- ha- han- hands on the beaches of Loch Ness..." As her memories were being altered, her nostrils flared out and her jaw pushed out. "I am glad to be... I love my husband for bringing me here, I do love him... Although I miss my jungle gym at home... I still appreciate that he did this for me... swinging around the trees... eating their unwanted fruit... ook... ook... I LOVE BEING A MONKEY!!!...ook ...ook". The more the mimic altered the memories, the more her jaw turned into a monkey's muzzle.

Dale was panicking in his mind "Oh, she's a monkey. My wife is a monkey! How? Why? How could someone be a monkey quite literally?! How am I going to explain this to her mother? This is awful! I can't believe that this is happening!". The mimic started to alter his memories of his wife. "I can't believe it, I can't believe... I... can't... believe... I can't believe that I'm here with my wonderful wife... I'm glad I brought her here, I could see that she needed some time out of the house... I love her... I love her hair and her f- fu- fur. Her beautiful brown hai- h- f- fur. Her t- ta- tail, swinging about, it's like a third arm and it's very helpful with the shopping back home... Holding her han- ha- hands, which ever one it may be... I may not be as adventurous as her, but then again, she is a... she is... my wife... she is a monkey, and a beautiful one at that... I'm so glad I married her... I love her... my monkey wife...".

Both of their memories were altered. Sophie was a human-monkey like hybrid and Dale was still her husband. The mimic let go of their foreheads, gaining their true memories and scurried back deep into the caves.

Both their eyes were unglazed, they were taken out of their trance. Sophie rubbed her head "Oh, ook, how long were we standing here?". Dale stood up, rubbing the back of his neck "I have no idea. Should we keep going to the waterfall?". Sophie jumped in excitement "Oh yes please! Maybe there might be some tropical fruit there! I need a good meal after walking through here". "Alright then, its settled" Dale said, somewhat excited which was more than he ever had been before "We'll go to the waterfall. Love you, honey". "Love you, too" Sophie replied, before they kissed and walked off to where the waterfall was located, holding each other's hands.
