“Can we just leave This timeline alone for now,” Kel asked. “All these realities are giving me a headache.”
Merlin smiled as he looked at the college age woman. “That truely is a wise statement, sometimes discretion is the better part of valor.” With a wave of his hand the four girls watched as the t.v. sized screen showing the other reality vanished. As it did everyone let out a sigh of relief.
“So,” Kat asked. “Is it just me or are their a whole lot of unanswered questions from this visit?”
“Your telling me,” Kellie sighed. “Katie’s parents looking like Kats grandparents, other timelines that show people conitnueing to grow younger from an event we lived through a week ago.”
“Not to mention the fact you were originally Kats mom and erased her dad,” Kel said. Kellie blushed as she looked at her daughters fiancé. “Yeah that too,” she mumbled. The girls now sat in awkward silence as they tried to avoid eye contact. Merlin saw the girls discomfort, deciding to offer words of encouragement to them.
“If I could just offer some advise,” he said quietly. The girls turned their attention to the ancient wizard as he smiled warmly at them. “Our last May shape us but it does not define us. Yes Kellie was originally Kellie O’Tolle, yes Katie’s parentage is slightly different than what you are accustomed too. However considering the bond you four have been able to forge should not alter your perceptions of each other. You just know a little bit more about each other now. No more, no less.”
“So what does that mean exactly,” Katie asked, slightly confused.
“It means,” Kellie stated. “That we may have some crazy things in our lives but it shouldn’t destroy our friendship.”
The others looked at each other a small grin appearing on their faces. “You know I think I can live with that,” Kat smiled. The others nodded in agreement as they slowly now stood. Kat and Kel looked at their watches before looking at their teenage doppelgängers. “We should probably get going though,” Kat sighed. “Finals are this week and we need to study.”
Kellie sighed in agreement, as much as she loved seeing Kat again, she realized she had her own life to live. “Your probably right,” she said sadly. “Still, it was great seeing you two again.”
“Same here,” Kat said warmly, hugging the teen girl tightly.
“Hope you come back soon,” Kellie smiled. “Besides I need to have a talk with your fiancé here, especially if she’s marryIng my daughter.”
Kel laughed as she looked at her teenage self. “This is going to be a weirdest mother in law relationship ever.”
“Pretty sure that’s par for the course when it comes to magic,” Katie giggled. As the two college age women now vanished back to their own reality, Kellie found herself staring at Katie. The two teens blushed as they rubbed their necks sheepishly.
“So your a teen mom,” Katie said. Kellie nodded unsure of how to explain the reality Alteration that had taken place. “Sort of,” she said sheepishly. “It’s um, kinda hard to explain.”
“Ugh tell me about it,” Katie groaned. “This whole reality Alteration thing gives me a headache. Still is kind of interesting seeing what we’ll look like in a few years.”
“So were good then?”
Katie nodded, smiling at Kellie before giving her a small hug. “Yeah were good,” she smiled. “Why don’t you and Your um...dad stop by for dinner tonight. Aunt Ann wouldn’t mind the company.”
Kellie smiled as she hugged Katie, as crazy as her reality Alteration lesson had been at least things seemed to be good with her and Katie. Hopefully, like her daughter, she too could develop a relationship with this version of Katie.
