After all of Merlin’s lessons, all the the effort into getting the girls together, and all the setbacks the group had faced; Kellie now found herself almost back where she started before her ill fated wish. Since her arrival a little over a month ago she had slowly begun to form very close relationships with the girls. As she made her way downstairs for another day of school, she smiled at the elderly wizard drinking tea in the kitchen.
“Morning ‘dad’,” she smirked as she sat down next to Merlin.
Merlin smiled wirely as he gazed at Kellie. “You say that with quite a bit of mirth young lady,” he smirked. Kellie shrugged and smiled as she began eating her breakfast. “Well what do you expect,” she answered. “You keep a secret like that from me for the past 10 years and expect me to just shrug it off.”
“No,” Merlin grinned. “But I do not see how this alters our relationship Kellie. I have always looked out for you. The fact that I am magically your father should not change things in the slightest.”
Kellie could only laugh as she shook her head. “You know you may be a genius when it comes to magic but your clueless when it come to being a parent.” Kellie quickly finished her breakfast, giving the elderly wizard a gentle kiss on the top of his head. “You have a good day their pops,” she giggled. “I’ll see you when I get home.”
“You know I think I prefer dad over pops,” Merlin grumbled.
“I know,” Kellie grinned. “But half the fun of having a teenage daughter is how much they drive you crazy yet you still love them. Love you, bye.” Quickly sprinting to her car Kellie couldn’t help but smile.
The drive to school was proving to be quite fun for Kellie. After reacquainting herself with this timelines Kate and her friends she found that driving them to school proved to be a lot of fun. As Katie, Lisa, Samantha and Kellie talked they began to discuss their plans for the week. The girls had a volleyball game later this week, meaning practice would be more intense than usual. It also meant Kellie would probably be staying late so she could drive the girls home after practice. This suited Kellie just fine as she was able to not only hangout with Claudia, Mika, and Kumiko but get to know Mary Elise and Karen as well.
While Mary Elise could hardly be called a great friend to the girls, a definite thawing in the relationship had occurred. The goth girl and her friend kept their distance while Lisa and Kumiko treated her respectfully. Kellie acted as a bridge between the two groups, making sure that magically nothing befell the other. So far things were going well, to the point that Claudia and Mary Elise were beginning to rekindle their friendship.
As Kellie pulled into the parking lot she smiled as her friends exited the vehicle. Although things were far from where they were before Kellies wish, they were improving. Kellie had friends, family and more importantly she believed something was beginning to form with Katie. While the two were not an item, they had chemistry. Kellie could now only sit back and wait until Katie made a decision, a decision she hoped would lead to them as a couple.
“Hey Kel,” Lisa called. Kellie shook her head, she had been lost in thought as she gazed out over the parking lot. “Sorry,” she blushed. “Kind of zoned out for a minute.”
“Yeah I saw,” Lisa giggled. “Now hurry up, we don’t want to be late for class.”
Kellie nodded as she now quickly sped towards the building. Things were finally begging to go her way, hopefully whatever awaited the group would be nothing they couldn’t overcome together.
