I thought about the world's problems. I widened my eyes and quickly said, "I wish nobody would die for at least a few minutes!"
Dan smiled at me and put her elbows on her knees and face in her hands. "We have a few minutes, then. That's going to prolong some people's suffering, though."
I groaned. "This is hard, ok! I just want to get this over with and go back to fucking around." I flipped around and sat on her comfy armchair, my back upright and slightly arched. "I guess if I just save the problem for later it'll be ok?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well I don't want to like, mess the world up!" I whined. "This is hard! What if someone figures out something weird happened?"
"People might notice that people aren't dying," Dan said.
My eyes widened and I groaned. "I hate responsibility. Can't you figure this out? You're always responsible,"
Dan chuckled, her voice light, and sat back, crossing her legs in her long nightgown. "Indeed, I'm always responsible."
I smiled ruefully and rolled my eyes at her. "You know what I mean."
She chuckled again. "Can you make everyone who dies actually not die and go into some kind of magic coma?"
I tilted my head at her. "Mmm?"
"If people could be brought back later, you'd have as long as you need to figure out how to change the world slowly."
I nodded slowly and sat back, putting two fingers on my slightly opened mouth as I thought.
I sat back up.
I spoke.
"I wish everyone who would have died instead went into a coma nobody could tell wasn't death." I closed my eyes and thought for a second, tapping imaginary things in the air. As I did, my fingers started to get shaky. I didn't think much of it. "I wish when people's bodies and brains seemed to be destroyed or damaged, they would always be able to be wished back together the way they were whole before they were damaged."
I blinked as my vision cleared. I looked around the room with a confused expression for a moment, then shook my head to clear it.
Dan was giving me a big smile. "Now how do we know if it worked?"
"Daannniiiiiiiii," I groaned. "Can I just do sexy things?" I set my face in one hand, my vision still slightly spinning.
"No, Chloe. You have a responsibility to spend at least a few minutes using this for good. Then you can go back to goofing off."
I sighed. "What are you, my mother," I mumbled.
"Really?" Dan said with a grin. She stood. "I'm going to go shower and get dressed. It's a bit late."
