Jason remembered seeing some weird ads online, as well as some parts in certain TV shows where people could split in half. A lot of the time, the split was horizontal (at the waist), but occasionally, he would come across media featuring people splitting in half vertically. He also remembered one or two pieces of media featuring people splitting in half at a slant. Of course, all of these were done via special effects. The katana could make this happen for real.
After thinking it over (well, with time being stopped, Jason had pretty much all the time in the world), he selected the colour of the blade as well as the orientation as to how she'd be split - vertically with the white blade. Slowly and carefully, he cut a straight line from the crotch of her shorts to the top of her head. This created a glowing white line that separated her left side from her right side, but was otherwise whole, at least for now.
He then pressed the red button on the hilt and put it away as soon as time started up again. The world got a little fuzzy, but everything cleared quickly. Chloe now had two bags over her right shoulder, and the glow where he made the cut was gone.
"So, what do you want to do today?", she asked.
Suddenly, Jason heard her cell phone ring. Chloe reached into one of her bags and pulled it out.
"Oh, it's work. Excuse me, I'd better take this." She then put the phone up to her ear.
"Hello?" she asked. As she listened, her happy expression changed to one of disappointment. "Oh. Damn. Sorry to hear about that." Then she listened more. "Oh, I was just about to hang out with one of my friends." But then she heard something on the other line that made her smile. "Oh, cool! I'll be there soon."
She then hung up.
"Jodie called in sick, so I have to cover her shift. I'm gonna have to split."
"You have to leave already? Aw, and I was so looking forward to hanging out with you."
Chloe chuckled, as she moved one of her shoulder bags to her left shoulder. "Not that kind of split."
Then she proceeded to step apart, splitting into her left and right halves. Left-Chloe then went up and hugged Jason as best she could with one arm.
"Jodie's shift ends at about 4, so I'll see you guys later. Bye!"
Left-Chloe then hopped away on her one leg to her shift at the stall. Well, not so much hopping, because her locomotion looked pretty smooth, almost akin to walking.
Right-Chloe was waving goodbye as if this was a normal departure, whilst you could only stare dumbfounded, though you did nervously wave. Right-Chloe then turned to you.
"Okay, sorry about that. Did you have anything in mind for something we could do today?"
Jason thought about it before replying...
