The fall equinox is often called the time when day and night are equal lengths. For many people, this was the beginning of the most “hated” time of the year, due to the fact that it was the end of summer and not quite winter. But that didn’t mean that there was some funny things happening.

For several Animalians, especially those with seasonal mating patterns, “fall fever” was hitting them and hitting them hard. This was causing guys who noticed that a lot of pain and suffering, mainly by making complete fools of themselves. This was the inspiration for a new bulletin board at the Great Hall called the “Head over Heels Wall of Shame”.

Fall was also when a number of pumpkin-flavored foods, additives, and other things started appearing. This was considered one of the reasons people hate fall. Animalians, however, were rather interested in trying pumpkin spice in various foods. This inspired one well known spice company to create a new spice to put on anything, and one surprisingly effective result of it was pumpkin-flavored meat.

This was also the time when Halloween costumes and decorations started appearing in stores. This was causing some amusing things to happen, especially when girls were swarming the “sexy costumes” section, and getting into cat fights (Cat Animalian: “I resent that.”) over the “good” costumes. The reason for this kind of behavior was, apparently, the closer you get to Halloween, the less likely you are to find the costume you want.

Of course, one of the most looked forward to events in Animalia was Spookyville. So it was decided to begin selling preorder packages for Spookyville. This was again showing how “popular” Animalia was when preorder sales were already in the $10000 range.
