The dragon didn't try to attack or anything. So, Jeffsworth decided that if he was going to stay in this cave, the best option was to refrain from any aggressive action.
"Yes, welcome to my shop!" the dragon said with a hint of deviousness in his voice. "You many choose from any of my wares, if you can handle paying the price!"
"That's good. I do have money and need a lot of supplies," Jeffsworth said to the dragon. "Namely food and a new sword. Mine was pretty damaged in my last expedition."
"It looks like we can come to a deal then. Pay me with gold and I'll let you stay here for the night. I assume you were planning on that, yes?" the dragon asked.
"I uh..." Jeffsworth stumbled over his words.
Jeffsworth realized he had to trust this dragon. And that he was trespassing on his storefront!
"You will," the dragon completed for him. "I am Slue, which is kind of a dumb name but I digress … Let us trade!"
Jeffsworth nodded as he brought over his sack of treasure and handed it to the dragon, who seemed rather pleased with the haul he just got.
"So then, anything on the table is for sale?" Jeffsworth asked.
"Yes, of course! Help yourself!" Slue said tossing the sack with his jaw over his back.
Meanwhile, Jeffsworth picked out some of the essentials, namely food and water. He considered the armor, but then noticed an astounding looking sword. It was forged perfectly to balance both effectiveness and lightness. Whoever had forged this sword knew exactly what they were doing.
