Emily arrived home late. She was sure she'd only been in the shop for some minutes - half an hour maybe - but when she had left it was already getting dark. She took a tram back home, trying not to think too much about her encounter with the woman in the shop. When she arrived home, she left the necklace in her bag and went to bed. Though being curious, the necklace had to wait. After all, she a had an important date with Mike, her soon-to-be boyfriend (as she hoped) the next day and didn't want to mess things up without knowing what the necklace does. "First work, then Mike, and after that it's the necklace's turn", she said to herself.
She was still in her sleep, when her younger sister Claire, a college student, desperately searched for some accessory to put on that day in college. It wasn't the first time she checked out what her sister had bought and borrowed it for a day or two. Clair took a look into Emily's bag. "Nothing there of interest", she thought. "Hey, this is something!" She took out the necklace. "Not really my style, but it will fit my green top nicely". Clair put it on, checked her reflection in the mirror for a second, was satisfied, and left the house. She didn't want to be late for class.
