Lynne had hoped her new friends would of joined her in study hall after lunch. Unfortunately for her they all had class leaving the girl by herself. Entering study hall Lynne groaned as she saw Gloria, Tricia and their friends all sitting down. Lynne groaned as the group tried to beckon her over. “Ugh pass,” she grumbled. Seeing an empty seat on the other side of the class, the unhappy teen slowly made her way over to the desk before opening a romance novel.
Gloria sighed as she looked at her sister. “Geez what did I do to make her so mad,” she groaned.
“Well,” Tricia said quietly. “You kind of need to understand that Lynne is a prankster. She probably would of changed Principal Jenkins back at the end of the day. She never uses her magic to hurt people only to have fun.”
“That still doesn’t explain why she’s so grumpy,” Sasha frowned.
Tricia shook her head as she looked over at her best friend. “The thing you have to understand is that Lynne hates admitting to any mistake and she hates getting in trouble,” she said. “She’s beating herself up over being stuck here and she probably blames Gloria for getting detention, she never gets in trouble, she always finds a way out. Gloria making a new princiapl, getting her stuck in detention, and lecturing her probably pushed her over the edge.”
Sasha frowned as she looked between her friends and Lynne. “That’s so damn stupid,” she grumbled. “She got herself in trouble by mouthing off to Mr. Harris. Gloria didn’t make her act like a bitch.”
Tricia fidgeted uncomfortably as she looked at Gloria and her friends. None of the girls knew how much pressure Lynne put herself under to live up to her parents expectations. All that the girl wanted to do was live up to what her family wanted. Being the youngest sister of two very powerful wizards meant that Lynne placed an incredible amount of pressure on herself to live up to their legacy. Yes, she acted out. Yes, she could be reckless. What she had told Tricia and Tricia alone was how sometimes it was almost overwhelming. Tricia could only shake her head looking at Gloria and her friends. None of them could understand Lynne, all they saw was a reckless kid.
“This is stupid,” Sasha groaned. “I’m going to go talk with her.”
Tricia’s eyes bulged as she saw Sasha begin to stand up. “What are you doing,” she hissed, grabbing Sasha’s arm.
“What,” Sasha muttered angrily.
“Ugh you guys don’t know her at all,” Tricia sighed shaking her head. “It’s best to just leave her alone when she’s angry. If you go over there to talk with her she’s only going to get angrier. Just take my advise, wait to talk with her.”
Sasha narrowed her eyes as she looked at Tricia. “No chance,” she said. “I’m not going to just sit here and let Lynne talk all sorts of crap about her sister. We’re going to settle this now.” Pulling her arm away from Tricia the dark haired teen now strode over to where Lynne was sitting.
“Hey we need to talk,” Sasha growled as she stared down at Lynne. Lynne would not acknowledge Sasha as she continued to flip through her book. Sasha could feel her cheeks beginning to burn with anger as the red haired teen continued to ignore her. “Hey I’m talking to you,” she yelled.
“I heard,” Lynne said casually as she continued to flip through her book. “And the answer is no. I don’t want to talk.”
Sasha grit her teeth as she reached for Lynne’s book, snatching it out of her hands and slamming it on the desk. “Well too bad we’re talking,” she hissed. Lynne narrowed her eyes as she looked casually up at Sasha.
“If your trying to intimidate me it won’t work Sasha,” she said flatly. “Remember Ive Known you my whole life. I know all about the tough girl routine. Now leave, if I want to talk to you I will come talk to you.”
“That’s not no this works,” Sasha exclaimed. “Gloria and the rest of us are worried about you and you just blow us off. You need to go over there and talk with your sister.”
“I don’t have to do shit,” Lynne hissed. “Your not my mom Sasha. Hell, your not even a friend of mine. I’m gong to say this slow so that even your thick headed ass can understand. I don’t want to talk to you or any of them. If I want to talk to you and your lonely ass family I’ll come look for you at that dump you call a house. Now leave me alone.”
Sasha grit her teeth as Lynne picked up her book once more. Lynne’s attitude was pissing her off. The fact the girl had now brought Sasha’s family into the fight made her blood boil. Looking at the girl as she casually flipped through her book, Sasha now lost it. “Hey Lynne.”
Lynne looked up just in time to see Sasha throw a vicious punch that immediately knocked the girl on her back. As Lynne lay on the floor she sighed in annoyance as she felt blood begin to trickle from a split eyebrow.
“Sasha Sampson! Principals OFfice NOW!”
From Lynne’s spot on the floor she could see as the teacher had a resource officer set in between Sasha and Lynne and begin exporting her from the classroom. As Lynne angrily gazed over at her sister and her friends she could see them gawking at scene in complete shock.
“Well,” Lynne thought. “I think I can officially say this has been the worst day ever.”
