Mary had finally arrived home with Dylan, her son. Dylan had been invited to a friend's house and Mary volunteered to drive him. She had spent the last few hours bored out of her mind. She looked in the rearview mirror, seeing her biological son sitting there. He looked tired, as his eyes were dropping. She glanced at herself and brushed her dark black hair out of her eyes. Her face reminded her of her real mother in Vietnam. She felt she should visit her again soon. She knew Kylie and Dylan would love to see their grandma, and Alex loves traveling.
Mary walked in the door and saw Lance standing in the room texting. She immediately got annoyed. She hated Lance. With two mothers, Kylie's parents often mixed up their parental roles between each other. Mary tended to take the "stern father" approach to boys. She asked Dylan to put his coat away as she approached Lance. Lance's head shot up as he heard her voice.
"Hello young man. What brings you over today?" She said coldly.
Lance was super nervous. Both of Kylie's parents were tough on him, so he always tried to avoid coming over when they were there.
"H-hi Mrs. Smith-Hang. How are you doing?"
Mary proceeded to grill Lance for a bit, but eventually let up as she realized they hadn't been doing anything. Lance was finishing up his story. "...nd then she said she was going to look something up and here you are."
"Alright Lance, carry on." Mary said with a skeptical gaze. She walked over and looked at the camera. "Why was Kylie so weird with this camera?" She thought. She looked it over and saw the word "random" and then followed by a couple of scratched out words. She carried it into Dylan's play room and kept changing the setting it was on, but kept awareness the same.
She shrugged and took a selfie of herself to see what it was all about.
