Jennifer stares at the phone for a moment, trying to recall why she would be holding the phone. "Was I going to call..." Glancing around, she gave a quick shrug before replacing the phone. Continuing to search through the room for another minute, the girl sighed.
Her cheer top was no where that she could eve- "Oh!" An idea struck the girl, and she turned. Heading through the kitchen, she hurried down the stairs into the laundry room. Worst case scenario it wasn't here. Second worst case was... Opening the Washing machine, she quickly picked through the clothes. Good. Not in the washer. If it was, she'd have to be late to class.
Next up, was the dryer. Popping it open, she quickly glanced through, and with a small cheer she pulled out not only her cheer top, but a sock as well! "YES!" The girl said, hopping in place. "Looks like things are finally looking up for me!"
"Jen?" A voice called out from the top of the stairs, sounding a little confused. "What are still doing here, Jen?" Leaning against the wall at the top of the stairs was Melanie. Jen's older sister. Mel was two years older than Jen, with long, lustrous black hair and beautiful green eyes.
"What? I can't be that late?" The cheerleader asked, looking confused, as she slipped the sock on. Ohh~ Warm clothes fresh out of the dryer are the best. "What time is it?"
"Too late," Mel said with a groan, "I just watched the bus leave as I was heading down." Much like her sister, Jen groaned, shaking her head.
"Shit. Sorry sis, I know you've got an early class on Fridays. I'll see if I can -" The girl started saying as she headed towards the stairs. "Whoa!"
Unluckily for Jen, she had stepped out, and onto a loose sock, it slipped, sliding out from under her, and the girl tumbled forward, crashing into her sister.
It took a moment for the two to disentangle, but as Jen sat up, something felt... different.
