Like other universities, UNLV threw big parties for big holidays. And a big holiday like Halloween deserves a particularly big party. The different fraternities and sororities were expected to help out with the campus's big Halloween party, even if they were also doing their own. And quite a bit of attention was being focused on the university's newest fraternity.
The three officers of Pi Eta Tau were meeting to discuss their current Halloween plans. "Ok, Sylvia, how are our current funds?" asked Tiffany.
"For the most part, we are stable and should be able to buy the food and drinks we need for our party," said Sylvia, "Decorations will cut a bit into the budget, but nothing door admissions can't fix."
"Do we really want to charge people to come to our party?" asked Henry.
"I think we can wave the admissions charge," said Tiffany, "We're not trying to look like isolationists. We can find a way to reclaim what we lose."
"Fine," said Sylvia, "And how are we contributing to the main campus party?"
"We're helping out with decorating quite a bit," said Tiffany, "It's easier when some of our pledges are stronger than the average person and can reach higher places. Every fraternity or sorority is bringing at least one dish of snacks to the party. We already got two dishes planned, one for meat-eaters and one for vegetarians. And we're expected to be on good behavior."
"And what rules needs to be enforced for this?" asked Sylvia.
"First of all, everyone has to be vaccinated so there are no accidental conversions," said Henry, "Costumes can be sexy, but no naughty bits revealed. We also need to drink responsibly."
"Not so hard," said Sylvia, "Alcohol is usually unpalatable for us."
"That doesn't mean we can't drunk if we're willing to push past the flavor," said Henry.
"So we're following basic college party rules, just needing vaccination as well," said Tiffany.
"Essentially, yes," said Henry.
"Is there any other business?" asked Sylvia.
"Well, it's not business, but I want to show you guys this cute video," said Tiffany, showing the others what was playing on her phone. The video showed Clara and Richard's cute spotted cubs playing with each other. But it wasn't just them this time. They had new playmates; Robert and Martha's two kits who were born last month. Of course, since the cougar cubs were already over a year old, they were bigger than the fox kits. As such, the babies were being watched by their parents in case the cats got too rough with the foxes.
"Well, that was cute," said Sylvia, "Though I think we should probably meet again before the end of the month. We may have more business to cover."
"Agreed," said Tiffany, "Let's say next week. Meeting adjourned." It will probably take more work to get ready for a Halloween party, especially a fraternity party that could get rather rowdy. But they still had most of the month to plan for it.
