While it took a lot longer, travelling around town as a cow felt unexpectedly easier for Laura than it had done when she was a dog. The stares she received from those around her and how obviously out of place she was helped to remind her of her humanity. Or maybe she was just getting more used to this shapeshifting business now. Either way it wasn't a habit she wanted to keep up. After all, the idea of finding a nice field of grass to graze on was still only marginally less of a priority than rescuing her friends.
Eventually she arrived at the store. The front doors had just been left open. Maybe the owner had left in a hurry earlier to ger to her friends before she did? She hoped not to run into him again anyway seeing as he could turn her into just about anything.
As soon as she was sure she was alone Laura morphed back into human form. Great, so she was naked in the middle of town again. She bolted the door shut behind her and looked around.
There was no sign of Annie, Sophie or Lucy. Thankfully there was no sign of the store owner either. That was hardly surprising, he wasn't likely to come straight back here with three naked women he'd brainwashed and essentially kidnapped.
What Laura hoped to find was some sort of clue as to her friends whereabouts along with any kind of possible antidote to their, and her, condition. She had always been a pragmatic and resourceful person and, seeing as nobody was likely to believe her story, she was going to have to sort this all out herself. But where to even start?
