The Magic Shop

A Brush With Your Crush

You head towards your apartment and have to do a double take. Walking on the opposite side of the street is one of Walker's friends, Liam. You would recognize him anywhere.

You've had a crush on him since you saw him at one of Walker's beach parties -- who in their right mind could resist him, though? He used to be a wrestler, but gave it up after he slammed just about everyone in the junior circuit. But he still keeps up with the same intense workout routine, and it shows. Liam has a kind of fireplug build, short but sturdy. He has firm, defined muscles, a statuesque chest with slab-like pecs, and a thick neck. Just thinking about him playing beach volleyball last summer (skins, to your delight)... Well, it's usually enough to get you off when you're messing around before bed. He has black, wavy hair, and a squarish, handsome face outlined with scruff. His eyes are an intense, steely gray -- although they usually tend to be focused on bouncy breasts and curvy women, to your disappointment. Oh well. He's not much of a talker, which is a good thing -- he tends to come off a little rude and stupid. He's the kind of guy who would rather bench press a bookshelf than read anything on it, to put it simply. His older brother Arlin is kind of a dick (and not half as good looking) but luckily, he's nowhere to be seen.

You decide to flag the burly boy down. You're not sure if he remembers you, but a plan is forming in your head. You pat the amulet under your shirt, checking to make sure it's still there. Liam looks at you with obvious confusion, although he recognizes your face enough to cross the street. He stops in front of you, plucking white earbuds from his head and pausing his music. "Uh, do I know you?," he asks in a thick, bassy voice. He's probably coming from a workout -- his shoulders and face are glistening with sweat, and he has a small duffel bag hanging off one arm. "Yeah," you say, trying to sound casual. "I'm Walker's cousin? [Name]?" Liam is a little less tense when he places you, but still looks suspicious. "Right, yeah. What is it?" You didn't have much time to think of anything, so you just go with the first thing that comes to your mind.

"Walker wanted me to show you this," you say, pulling the amulet from under your shirt. "Look." Liam looks confused, but stares at the necklace anyways, dropping his foggy gray eyes to your neck. "Don't move, and keep staring at the amulet," you say first, wanting to make sure you have his attention. You take a moment to try to think of everything you need to say. "Anything I tell you to do from now on, you'll do it whether or not you're looking at this necklace. You can't physically hurt me or take this amulet from me. You can't call for help or tell anyone about this amulet. And finally," you command, taking a deep breath, "you will follow me to my apartment now." You step back, and see the handsome youth is still frozen in place. "Sorry, you can move normally again." You start heading towards your apartment, tucking the amulet back into your shirt. Liam walks purposefully beside you, pumping his short legs quickly.

"What the fuck? Why am I following you?" You smile. It would have been easy not to let him talk, but you don't want him to be a total puppet. It's just the only way you could think of to get him home. "It's the amulet," you say quietly, so people around you don't hear. "I told you, you have to do what I say." Liam shakes his head -- you can practically hear his little brain rattling around in there. "But I don't want to. You're probably going to make me do some... fuckin' faggot shit or something, I guess. You're that gay cousin, right?" You shrug, blushing a little. You're in control, but it hurts to hear Liam talk about you like that. "Yeah, I'm gay. But don't jump to conclusions. I haven't decided what I want to do with you yet. There's still a lot you don't know about me and Walker." Liam smacks his forehead while he walks. "What, HE'S a fag too? Probably should have known, he can't keep a girl for more than a night..." You roll your eyes. Your apartment is close. "No. Just stop talking until I say so. We're almost there, and I'll explain things in a minute."

You and Liam get in the building's elevator, going up to your floor. You walk up to your apartment door, and...
