There were a lot more Dinotopians this Halloween than there were last year. And there were very few who were too young to attend the adult Halloween party. So the Slaughterhouse had plenty more dinosaurs than last year, though they weren't all dancing on the stage. Most of them were just milling around the crowd with the rest of the party-goers. They were pretty easy to pick out from the crowd, especially the sauropods who towered over everyone. The Dinotopians were mostly wearing cavemen/tribesmen-inspired outfits.
Tyra wanted to go up on the stage, but she didn't want to leave Rex behind. Rex was pretty accustomed to Tyra's wildness by now, but she couldn't drag him up onto the stage with her. But she was content to walk around the party with Rex on her arm. Of course, in a few more minutes, she'll be pulling him into the back rooms for some fun.
Eventually, she spotted a pair of Dinotopians she wanted to talk to. Sherry was currently talking with Rachel and she led Rex over to them. "How are you girls enjoyi'g the party?" asked Tyra.
"It's ok, though the dancing's wearing me out," said Sherry, "I'll need to take a rest soon."
"I kinda wish I was dressed more to impress someone," said Rachel, "None of the guys here are my type."
"I'm surprised at that," said Tyra, "I would have thought a woman like you would be receivin' a lot of attention."
"Well, there wouldn't be any lasting relationship unless they've got these too," said Rachel, pointing at her back plates and thagomizer.
"Yeah, kinda wish there were more ceratopsians around," said Sherry.
"What about that Horne fella?" asked Tyra.
"He's a Styracosaurus, I'm a Triceratops," said Sherry, "I mean, it's alright for you two, since you're part T. rex. But I need to have someone within my species. If I can fit him into my busy schedule."
"What schedule?" asked Tyra, "Lyra's the most secure city in America. There's nothing for the Rhino Guard to do all day but train. I'm sure you can put aside some time for datin'."
"And I'm a little surprised there aren't any guys wanting to become a Triceratops or a Stegosaurus right now," said Rex, "I would think that those two species would be rather popular."
"Maybe people are just waiting for Dinosaur City to be built first," said Rachel.
"Well, I wouldn't let that hold me back," said Tyra, "Ya'll should be tryin' to find boyfriends, even if they can't convert right away. Probably would be better to get to know them first."
"I wasn't expecting that advice tonight," said Rachel.
"Just because I have a reignited sex life doesn't mean I don't care about long relationships," said Tyra. She glanced at her watch and said, "Speakin' of sex lives, Rex, we need to head on back."
"Already?" asked Rex in mock-protest.
"Mama needs some action," said Tyra, pulling Rex towards the back rooms.
==========
But while most of the Dinotopians were at the adult party, there were others who were enjoying Spookyville. Most notable were Sophie and Roland, considering the two Pterodactyls were too young and not double-dosed yet. But that was fine for them. They wanted to be out where everyone could see their costumes. They filled out their gargoyle costumes from last year far better in more ways than one. Not only did their beaks, wings, and reptilian features make them look more authentic, but their bodies were more developed than last year. Sophie's Katana costume put a little more emphasis in her enhanced bust while the mostly-bare chest of Roland's Brooklyn costume showed off his growing muscles.
And accompanying them were JC and Pauline, the two African grey parrots-turned-Microraptors made a rather impressive pirate pair. They could have gone to the adult party as they were double-dosed, but JC didn't want to have his first Halloween as an Animalian without Sophie. Anyways, the trick-or-treating here was interesting and fun.
"So, after we get enough candy, what do you want to do?" asked Sophie.
"Maybe watch the finals for the Boo Haw Haw tournament," said Roland.
"Is it supposed to be a real tournament or are they just performing?" asked JC.
"I'm not entirely sure," said Sophie, "But I know they're not just faking it."
"Hey, look who's out here," said Pauline, pointing.
They looked in that direction to see a familiar trio. Jeremy, Heather, and Polly were together, much like last year. Though there were some obvious differences, namely that Jeremy was also a Syntixisaurus rex. He and Heather were wearing safari outfits, though with a few alterations. Jeremy was just wearing an open vest while Heather had her button-up shirt tied up. Sophie was pretty sure it was less to emphasize Heather's bust than show off the washboard abs she didn't have last year. Polly was wearing an Elsa costume like last year, though she was a little taller than before.
"Wasn't expecting you two to be out here," said Roland.
"Well, Polly wanted to trick-or-treat and she's not quite big enough to go by herself," said Jeremy. Roland gave him a raised eyeridge at that. "You know what I mean," said Jeremy.
"Didn't you want to go to the Slaughterhouse party?" asked JC.
"And watch Tyra embarrass me? No thanks," said Heather, "But if there's an adult Halloween party at Dinosaur City next year, I might go."
"Are there any other Dinotopians out here?" asked Pauline.
"The only ones we saw were the Maiasaura couple," said Jeremy.
"I've gotten a lot of candy," said Polly, holding up her bag.
"They probably like the way you look like Queen Elsa," said Sophie.
"Yeah. I can't wait to see what costume Marcy and Chilly will have for me when we go next year," said Polly.
"You're planning it out that far in advance?" asked Roland.
"Well, things might be a little different next year," said Jeremy, "Heather and I are going to be moving when Dinosaur City is ready. Besides, I can trust the Whites."
"You planning on doing anything else tonight?" asked Sophie.
"Oh, certainly," said Heather with a wicked grin, "We're going to that 'Attack of the Mole Men' thing."
"Mole mutants," corrected Jeremy.
"Men, mutants, they're only rats either way," said Heather.
"You're not still upset about what happened last year, are you?" asked Sophie with a bit of worry.
"Let's say I need a little catharsis for not being able to help Jeremy myself," said Heather.
"Heather, no need to get carried away," said Jeremy, "It's not like they could kidnap me now."
"It'd take a lot more than a bunch of rats to take you anywhere," said Sophie.
"I'm not gonna try to chomp anyone," said Heather, "Maybe roar and scare them out of their pants."
"Will they be wearing pants?" asked Polly.
"Let's not answer that," said Jeremy.
