...a village. Arianna almost collapsed in relief at the sight of the collection of short buildings that appeared in the distance as she finally emerged from the forest. A village meant people, which meant help at last. She could get clothes, food, even a bath, and then aid in getting home. All she had to do was march in there...
"Shit," Arianna cursed, as she suddenly realized that going into the village in her current state would mean letting everyone see her naked. And despite everything she'd already been through, the princess still had enough pride left to not want to expose herself to the prying eyes of anyone, least of all an entire village full of filthy peasants. On the other hand, she couldn't just turn away her best chance to finally improve her situation. So, what could she do?
Looking over the outer edges of the village carefully, Arianna felt a surge of hope as she saw a clothesline behind one house, several articles of clothing fluttering in the breeze. Moving quickly, but keeping herself low to the ground so no one would see her, Arianna made her way over to the clothesline. Reaching it, she searched it as fast as she could; while nothing was particularly appealing, she couldn't afford to be picky, so grabbed the first dress that seemed the right size to fit her. It was rough-spun and itchy, and normally Arianna wouldn't be caught dead in it. But she wasn't naked anymore, and that's what she chose to focus on.
"Oh, thank the gods," the princess muttered, "I'll never take being clothed for granted ever again. It's a shame there's no shoes, but I'll just order one of these peasants to give me theirs."
With that course of action set in mind, Arianna walked into the village proper, to find someone she could command to help her. As she entered the village...
