As Katie and Kellie rounded the corner they both groaned as they saw Claudia confront her teenage self. "This...could be awkward," Kellie sighed.
Claudia gazed curiously at the timid blond girl in front of her. "Hey you okay," she asked. "You can talk right?"
Teen Claudia nodded as she shrank away from the college age woman. "Hey is my twin broken or something," Claudia exclaimed. "How come she's so quiet?"
Kellie buried her head in her hand as teen Mika stepped forward, glaring angrily at the other Claudia. "Claudia's shy okay " she said fiercely.
Claudia gaped at the girl in front of her. Of all the things she had heard to describe over her life, shy was never one of them. Staring a little too long at the girl she turned away slightly embarassed.
"Sorry about that," Mika apologized as she placed a hand on her fiances shoulder. "Claudia has been so anxious to meet her other self. She didn't mean to freak her out."
"Its okay," teen Mika said quietly. "I get it, just try to take it down a notch okay? I really dont like it when people hassle her."
Claudia smiled as she lookrd at the teenage couple. Despite teen Claudia's obvious differences from herself, one thing seemed consistent. Miks always had her best interest at heart.
Approaching the timid girl Claudia smiled warmly, slowly extending her hand to her. "Sorry," she said softly. "Didn't mean to freak you out. I was just hoping you and me could talk. I've bren ancious to meet you, would you like to speak somewhere quieter?"
Tren Claudia nervously looked at her dopplegangers hand before taking a tentative hold of the college womans hand. "We'll be back soon Mika," the Claudia's said in unison as they left the group behind.
Entering a small guest room the older Claudia shut the door before looming at the teen in front of her. The teenager was the spitting image of herself. The only real difference seemed to be their personalities. Claudia was a fiery, loud, expressive woman while this girl appeared to be quiet as a church mouse. "So," Claudia sighed looking at the teen. "I take it you werent expecting your twin to be this loud."
"Its, um a bit of a shock," the teen mumbled. Claudia laughed softly as she looked at the girl. "Yeah I could say the same thing."
"So your dating Mika too," teen Claudia asked. Claudia smiled at the girl. "Actually engaged," she smiled. "I popped the question on Thanksgiving."
Teen Claudias jaw dropped. "We're getting married," she exclaimed. "And I was the one who proposed? I...I dont think I could ever do anything like that."
"Yeah I was a bit nervous myself," Claudia sighed. "But you'd be amazed what love makes you do sometimes. Which reminds me how are you and your Mika doing?"
"We're doing good so far," teen Claudia blushed. "She recently asked me out. Honestly, I was shocked but happy, I didnt think she liked me. Is that what happened with your Mika."
Claudia laughed as she recalled how her and Mika became a couple. "Actually no," she smirked. "Me and her were fighting per usual when we dared eachother to kiss one another. Turns out we both liked it. The rest is history."
"Seems a bit odd," teen Claudia said. "I mean me and Mika dont really fight. I cant see how fighting with someone would make you want to be with them."
"Sometimes," Claudia said looking at her teenage twin. "Passions light a fire under you that draw people together. Regardless, couldnt be happier, she...completes me, makes me a better person. Kind of keeps me in check."
Teen Claudia giggled at her college age dopplegangers explanation. "Well I dont know if my Mika keeps me in check but she does make me feel like I can do anything. She, kind of gives me confidence."
As the two Claudia's looked at one another the two girls realized that although they may both be very different, they did have one thing in common. Mika made them better people.
