More Problems

added by Kingdom Come 4 years ago A Canine

"Honestly, I've never seen a case like your sister's before. The body is relatively easy to change. Observe."

Talforious waved his arms upward, as if he was conducting an orchestra, and Ally's body rippled. She stood up as she rapidly lost her dog features. Kyle believed for an instant that his sister was cured. Unfortunately, the illusion was quickly shattered as she fell forward and barked. The wizard put his hands down, and Ally reverted back to her half-dog form.

"The mind is more difficult, but still possible to change."

The wizard conjured a dog treat out of thin air. Ally started drooling at the sight of it, eagerly following it as he waved it around. He twiddled his fingers, and the treat started glowing.
Concentrating on the magic, he seriously asked. "Do you want this treat?"
Ally blinked. "Of course not. That's disgusting!" She sounded like her old bratty self.

He stopped waving his fingers, and the treat stopped glowing. "Now do you want it?"
"Oh boy!" She was back to being a over-hyper canine. "A treat! A treat! Yes! Yes! Woof woof!"
Talforious tossed the treat in her direction. Ally leaped up, and caught it in her mouth. It was only an illusion though, and she whined sadly.

"The problem is her soul."
The wizard walked over and patted Ally on the head with both hands, rustling her furry ears. Then he swung his arms out wide, and a web of lights appeared. The dog girl went as still as a statue.
"This is all wrong. There's parts of a dog's soul and parts of a human soul in here, but they're all knotted together. Even worse, some of the dog parts are corrupting and fusing with the human parts. I'd say Ally is more dog than human at this point."

Kyle was fascinated by the magic being performed in front of him, while Alfred was seriously freaking out.
"But you can fix her, right?" the hypnotist repeated, growing increasingly nervous.
"Shush! I'm concentrating." Talforious poked and prodded at the web, rotating and studying it closely.

"Oh man. This can't be happening. This can't be happening. How could I lose that stupid coin!"
Mr. Dormitabis was pacing back and forth, clearly upset. He suddenly stopped.
"Wait!" he exclaimed. "The hypnosis coin! We'll just hypnotize her back, and then no more problem. Where is it?"
Talforious grimaced. "Don't bother. I already destroyed it."
"You what?" Kyle and Alfred yelled at the same time.
"After you left, it started going supernova, probably because it lost some of its magic to this girl here. It was growing too dangerous, so I destroyed it. Besides, it was attracting a lot of unwanted attention anyway."
"You... you..." Alfred started stammering.

"Yes, which means, hmmm... what's this?" the elderly man interrupted his own train of thought. "Aha! That's just a simple memory erase spell. So if I do this..." He rotated his left hand slightly, and the ethereal lights vanished.

Ally shot up on two legs. "Kyle! What the hell did you do to me!" She was pissed, and back to a normal state of mind.
"You made me a freaking GRRRRR..." Her voice mutated into a loud growl, but she shook her head to try to stop it. "RRrrrrruff! You are so dead! Do you have any idea what you made me do?"

She blushed, remembering the embarrassing incidents, and unconsciously tucked her tail between her legs.
"I... I..."
For some reason, her anger was fading. She should be furious about her actions, but instead she felt almost proud of them. It was as if she was proud of being a dog. Proud to be a Good... She shook her head again.
"I am not a dog!" She defiantly proclaimed, but then she looked down at her paw-hands.
"Gah! St-Stop looking at me!"
She wanted to cry. She felt like a freak, but part of her liked being a freak. She grabbed her tail, desperately trying to convince herself that it wasn't real. The sensation was utterly alien, but felt so right at the same time.
"Fix me. Now." She demanded.

"It's not that simple." Talforious protested. "Would you allow me to touch you again?"
"If it fixes me, fine." Ally was pissed at every person in this room.
Once again, he placed both hands on Ally's head. Ally rolled her eyes, but secretly liked his hands brushing against her sensitive ears. She went stock still, and the web of light reappeared, which the wizard re-examined. He nodded, confirming something in his head, before releasing the spell.

"By dispelling the memory erasure, I was able to weaken the spell's hold on you. That's why your human mind is in the driver's seat right now."
Ally breathed a sigh of relief.
"That's the good news. The bad news is, practically anything can transform you now. Your body and mind are in a complete state of flux. Basically, if you start thinking like a dog, you start turning into one. If you start thinking like a human, you eventually go back to being one. Honestly, it's rather fascinating. Your dog and human souls have reached a sort of equilibrium. Neither one is more powerful than the other, as far as I can tell, so they're relying on your mind to determine what your body actually looks like."

"What about the triggers?" Kyle suddenly entered the conversation.
"No idea." The wizard scowled. "They've probably been weakened, but I'm not sure by how much."
"Good Dog!" the wizard suddenly yelled.
Ally's ears and tail perked up. A battery of new emotions flooded her mind. She loudly barked, but quickly covered her mouth. She tried to speak, but it came out as "Arf!" She tried again. "Arf! Arf. Arrrf. Are rou sewious rright row?"
"Barbie Doll." the wizard commanded.
That helped clear the fog some. "Thanks, I was trying to arf."
She stopped, noticing the bark. "Seriously? Ugh, this is so messed up."
The wizard scowled. "Well, less effective, but still pretty potent. You should try your best to avoid those."

"Okay, so w-what now?" Ally nearly said "woof" instead of "what."
