Julia looked at the ground. There were some black colored scales.
“Cool. Lizard scales. We are lucky today,” she said, picking them up.
“Lizard scales? Don't you think that they are a little big?” David said, picking up a few scales.
Julia smiled.
“Whatever. We have the material for our experiment. 'Mister Boredom' can't say that we didn't do our homework,” she said, putting the scales in her pouch.
The two walked inside the building, through the hallways, and then inside the chemistry lab. The teacher looked at the two of them as they walked into the room.
“Congratulations! You are late,” he said while placing a Bunsen burner on a table.
“Sorry, Sir. We didn't hear the clock,” Julia said, putting her pack on the table.
The teacher smiled.
“And I suppose you forgot to bring your sample?” he asked, crossing his arms and looking at them skeptically.
Julia and David took out the lizard scales and put them on the table. The old man looked at them, slightly amazed.
“Where did you find these? I have never seen scales like this before” the teacher said, picking one of them up.
Julia scratched her head, nervously.
“Well...we...received them from...my uncle...he lives near... Evergreen, “ she said, sitting on a chair.
The old man put the scale on the table.
“Well, this is a good start. But let's see what you can do with those scales, ” he said, walking away.
The teacher walked in front of the class.
“Okay, listen up: I prepared you everything you need on the table and I gave you some basic instructions. Good luck,” he said, sitting on his chair and opening a book.
Julia snorted.
“Thanks a lot, 'Mister Cruelty',” she said, turning on the Bunsen burner.
