It took a few seconds for Joe to realize that he was waking up next to a naked catgirl. Then everything last night came crashing back to him. The sex had been great, certainly outstanding among the few sexual encounters he had had since the divorce. But one of the reasons it had been great was that careful, cautious, careerist Joe Daniels was taking a insane risk. Sex with a co-worker? There was no question of "taking advantage"--Miss Kitty had been sober and her consent had been as enthusiastic as the strictest standards would require--but in the era of #metoo no one was interested in your explanations. And she didn't seem to be very discreet. (It was odd, but although Joe remembered Miss Kitty working in the office for years, and cutting a considerable swath among the female-attracted staff, he had a hard time remembering any specifics of her career.)
Joe decided to give Miss Kitty the day off as a tactful way to avoid them coming into work together with Miss Kitty in yesterday's clothes.

"Here, I brought you a sandwich."
"Thank you." Before she had a chance to think about what she was doing, Jenny bent down to kiss Dusty on the lips. Jenny blushed furiously. "I'm sorry. I don't know why I did that."
Dusty responded. "Oh, I have a pretty good idea why you did that." She stood on tiptoes to return Jenny's kiss with interest and a hint of tongue.
"Supply room. Now." Jenny gasped.

Joe smiled. He had discreetly observed the pair from his half-open office door. That was the kind of thing he had been hoping to see. He turned to his email from an ally on Frank's staff. "Today he actually suggested at the staff meeting that we encourage workers to eat grass! Said it would enable them to save money and diminish salary demands! Can you believe it!"
Oh yeah, Joe thought, I definitely believe it.

An hour later Jenny, looking considerably more disheveled than usual, was back at her desk eating the sandwich Dusty had brought. It was a good sandwich--tomato and cheese--but, she reflected that it was at best the second most delicious thing she had eaten that day.

Frank absent-mindedly scratched the itchy patch on his back. Unbeknownst to him, coarse brown fur was growing there.
