The group paused, looking around for more danger before daring to relax. They swiftly realized Kit’s clothes and halberd were gone.
The rats must’ve taken them, Nicolai thought. But why?
“Let’s go,” Marceline said, a hint of iron in her voice that had never been there before.
“Maybe we should wait. Go slow, find another route,” Nicolai suggested, only to receive a furious glare from the white mage.
“If you wanna find another path, go ahead. But I’m saving Kit. And she is down that hall!”
Marceline pointed with her rod, turning and storming down the path, pausing once she hit the darkness.
“Dylaaaan! Light!”
The apprentice wizard sighed, looking at his two compatriots.
“Why not? She’s our friend. And if we’re gonna fall into another trap, why not just go for the trap we already know about?” he suggested with a shrug. “Hold on, Marcy!”
Dylan hiked his robes up and chased after the white mage, illuminating the dark.
“Eh, why not?” Ryan said, running after the others.
Nicolai frowned, but said nothing as he followed behind, slower.
This is the dungeon where people didn’t always escape from for some reason, he thought. Has Ryan forgotten that? Or is he just playing at being confident?
