The other two didn’t need to wait long to find out why Dylan had yelped, as they too fell down the hole with a cry each.
It was only a straight drop for a moment, before they landed roughly and began to slide down a slide of smooth stone. There was not a place to grab onto to slow themselves, and the three soon found themselves going at speeds only attainable on a horse or faster!

Dylan’s cry was cut off suddenly. That was warning enough for the knight, who grabbed Marceline and pulled her close against his armour with one arm. With his other free hand he kept searching until he found something ....

Nicolai clung to the rope for dear life, thankful for his thick gloves as the slide shot them out into a wide, open space. If Nicolai hadn’t been holding the rope, and Marceline had not been held so safely by Nicolai, they would’ve fallen like Dylan.
“Can you light the place?” Nicolai asked with a grunt, blind in the darkness.
