The old man handed him what looked like a first generation handheld electronic game, a huge one with a black and white screen.
"A video game?" asked the boy. "What will this do?"
"It's not all it appears to be," the Wizard said. "It's been modified in all kinds of interesting ways. I'm not going into the details but suffice to say I used it because it seems the manufacturer infuses all their products with magical energy. I've found similar magic in other devices, too."
"What?" Shelly asked. "Are you insane?"
"Some have called me so," the old man said. "But I don't think so."
"What does this thing do?" the boy asked, after attempting to turn it on.
