Chris lead his German grandparents into his apartment; he decided to have Christmas at his house with his friends. Colin was having a rough time after his break up with his long time girlfriend Jazz. He hadn't been himself in so long; depressed, cynical, irritable, in short nothing like the guy Chris met his freshman year of college.
Lucas didn't really help at all. Now don't get crossed here, he was kind of a jerk. He teased Colin about some nightmares that bothered him, pulled plenty of pranks, but he was still the guy's friend. Lucas never took his pranks too far, and this was no different.
Colin went to check on the Christmas Turkey, and Lucas' addition to the recipe made it blow up and splatter all over him. Lucas howled with laughter until he saw that his friend was starting to tear up.
"Woah dude, I'm sorry, I thought it'd-" the brunette started as his bearded friend cut him off.
"No, no, it was my fault for thinking you could avoid messing with me this one time... on Christmas... after I found out my girlfriend didn't even love me... yeah, that's just fine." he said as he walked over to the presents set out for Lucas.
"Dude?" football captain James asked.
"Mon frier, vwhat are you doing?" fashion designer Marin asked as Colin opened the fireplace up with an angry frown on his face.
"Colin, buddy, bro, let's talk about this." James pleaded.
Colin's nostrils flared furiously as he pulled the load back.
"COLIN, DON'T!" Chris yelled, but it was too late: Colin threw all of Lucas' presents into the fire.
Naturally, a fist fight broke out between the two, as Lucas and Chris' Grampa tried to break them up.
"You fatass! No wonder she broke up with you, you ugly motherfucker!" Lucas yelled as he decked Colin in the face.
"GO FUCK YOURSELF!" Colin yelled as he bloodily smashed his friend's nose. The blow was enough to send Chris' Grandma's necklace flying.
"I don't know why I'm friends with you!" Lucas yelled.
"I don't either! In fact, I WISH YOU'D FUCK OFF PERMANENTLY!" Colin screamed as the necklace's charm smashed against the wall.
Suddenly, a thunderbolt struck the powerlines as the whole town went dark. Chris' Grandparents dreaded this: that charm was meant to ward off a not so jolly entity. Krampus, a being who was known as "St. Nicholas' Shadow; he who punished instead of rewarded, took instead of gave". Surely he would arrive because of Colin's complete loss of holiday spirit.
And just like that:
