Ever since Katie and Kellie adopted Morgan, things had been a bit nutty. Katie quickly discovered that a magical newborn could cause quite a bit of havoc in the house. While it was nothing malicious Katie, Kellie and Claudia found that Morgan had a tendency to float her stuffed animals over her crib like a mobile or cause Katie or Kellie to lactate if she was hungry. Still nothing was funnier than the time Morgan kept shrinking Claudia an inch at a time whenever she tried to reach the top shelf. Katie and Kellie had to give their infant daughter a firm talking too as a 4 foot tall Claudia cursed the infant form behind.
“Well you did set her on fire Claud,” Katie said sheepishly as her tiny friend dumped behind her. “So what,” Claudia yelled in a high pitched voice. “Does this mean she’s going to try and get back at me from now on cause if that’s the case you three can move out,”
Katie was able to smooth things over and found herself explaining to her newborn that changing people out of spite was a very bad thing. Although she felt stupid for having an adult conversation with a newborn it seemed to work as Claudia was able to return to original size and no more mischief occurred.
As Gloria and Lisa now began to get ready they found themselves nervously looking at one another. Kumiko was throwing the party at Lisa’s, considering she had the most room. The list of people attending included some friends from Lisa and Kumikos job, Ann, Katie and her friends, Gloria and Marilyn O’Toole. The guest though that Lisa and Gloria now worried about the most was Kellie, Lisa’s sister.
The introduction reuniting the two sisters was shocking but at the time was no where near as emotional as anyone would of thought. The group was still trying to recover from battling Morgan LeFay and come to grips with the fact Katie and Kellie now had a daughter of their own. A daughter, Lisa realized, that technically made her a grandmother.
Despite some jokes from Katie and Gloria Lisa was adapting to the idea and had to admit that Morgan was indeed an adorable baby. Still though Lisa’s mother reuniting with her long dead daughter was sure to be emotional. Gloria chanced a glance at her mother seeing the worried look on her face. “Everything will be okay mom you’ll see.”
Lisa gave a short laugh as she now stared out towards the street. “Where have I heard that before,” she chuckled. “I know, every time my family gets together and Magic is in the air. Sorry Glo I’m seriously doubting that.”
“So what do you think mom,” Gloria said. “Any idea what’s going to happen?”
Lisa shrugged, sighing in exasperation. “Probably something age related per usual,” she sighed. “All I know is that mom is going to freak when she sees Kellie. Hell I’ll probably freak, was kind of dumbstruck seeing her again in the first place.”
“Do you not want Kellie to come?”
“Of course I want Kellie here,” Lisa exclaimed. “She’s my big sister, my idol, hell me and Ann always thought Kellie was the greatest. But, mom and Kellie reuniting is going to be different. Mom may have been able to intimidate me and Ann but not Kellie. Kellie was always...so confident, so strong. If Kellie thought she was right then she would fight with mom til the bitter end. They may not have fought much over the years but when they did it was World War 3.”
“So Aunt Kellie is as stubborn as grandma,” Gloria asked. Lisa laughed softly as she now thought things over. “You know I think your right,” she mused. “Never even considered it but it does explain a lot. Probably means those two are going to but heads when we introduce them to one another.”
“Things will be okay mom,” Gloria smiled. “Oh and Lynne, if your listening in their can you not go crazy with the Magic today? Morgan’s coming today too, think we can only really deal with one magical baby at a time.”
Lisa placed a hand on her very pregnant stomach, smiling as she felt her unborn daughter kick. “Think she heard you Glo,” she smiled. “Hopefully she stays quiet.”
“Hope so too mom,” Gloria smiled. “Now let’s go help Kumi finish setting up. Everyone should be here shortly.” Lisa nodded as mother and daughter now began to head towards the living room. While both worried that some rather chaotic magic would most likely occur both now held out hope that it would be a memorable day.
