Ryan had always loved the ocean, and growing up in the heartland of the Midwest made his awe for it grow even more. He had been to the ocean a few times with family vacations but never stayed for too long. With the recent development of nanite TF suits, the market for scuba diving and underwater exploring had never been greater. Transformations where Ryan's other guilty pleasure, so when he got the opportunity to intern for a small TF suit company, he couldn't be more excited, especially since they where sending him down to the gulf specifically to test their new swimming suit.
The company was ran by a couple of marine biology graduates that had a specific interest in creating suits for oceanography and had become close with Ryan in their last years of University, even though he was a few years younger than them. They had a few prototypes that had proven themselves in the University swimming pools, but never in the deep ocean. This is where Ryan came in. He was their unpaid guinea pig, but he didn't mind for the chance to explore the ocean and transform while doing it.
Ryan hadn't ever transformed before, but he had heard stories from friends and online of people changing into animals or changing for extreme sport such as scuba diving.
The plan was as follows; Ryan and some of the graduates would take a road trip down to Louisiana and simply let him loose testing a variety of suits and their functionalities.
The fateful day arrived and the group was standing on the beach suits laid out in the back of their truck."Alright Ryan," Bill said, Bill was the head of designing the suits. He knew the in's and out's and had tested all of them himself extensively. "You are going to be out there in the salt water longer than any of us have been in a pool. We will be able to maintain radio functionality, since that is built into the suit, but if anything goes wrong, you have to use the fail safes." Ryan looked back silently. "Well, nothing should go wrong, but nonetheless. Also don't freak out what with the transformation and everything, it can be pretty, different, but you'll get used to it."
"Yeah, I've been meaning to ask, what exactly can I expect from these suits?" Ryan asked with a slight bit of disconcert in his voice.
"Well, they're all different, in functionality if not form. Some of these require different transformations for the same engineering problems, they are just solved in different ways. And some of these are more to personal preference choices. Like this suit right here will form one limb out of your two legs, and this one over here will modify each of your legs to become their own prehensile limb."
"Uh huh," This fact intrigued Ryan. He hadn't really put thought into how these suits could be different than the mainstream one's he read about, as most of them just simply added some webbing, fins, and gills. "and which one am I testing out today?"
"Which ever one you want, have at it. I'm not telling you which one does what, can't ruin the surprise."
